Leilani subconsciously closed her eyes.
Until she smelled a faint hint of mint and an elusive woody scent.
Callahan's lips pressed against hers, his movements gentle yet carrying a hint of probing. Leilani tilted her head up slightly, returning the kiss.
Callahan's breathing seemed to stop for a second. Finally, he gripped Leilani's wrists tightly.
The kiss gradually deepened, transitioning from gentle to passionate, and then to near loss of control.
Leilani was kissed until she felt slightly deprived of oxygen, her fingers unconsciously clutching his shirt tightly.
Callahan's palm slowly caressed the side of her waist, his fingertips lingering at the hem of her sweater, occasionally brushing against the delicate skin of her waist, causing her to shudder softly.
Their bodies were pressed tightly together without any gaps, and even through their clothes, they could feel each other's accelerating heartbeats.
Callahan's lips wandered from the corner of her mouth to her earlobe.
Leilani tilted her head back slightly, looking at him with hazy eyes. "Callahan..."
Her eyes were glistening with moisture, veiled in a hazy mist, silently indulging his increasingly crossing-the-line actions.
Seeing Leilani like this, Callahan's breathing grew heavier, and the hands underneath became gradually out of control.
His lips trailed down along Leilani's neck, and his two hands slowly climbed up and down along Leilani's waist.
Callahan's fingertips hovered trembling in front of Leilani's chest; it would only take one second for him to completely dismantle her defenses.
But Callahan stopped at this critical moment.
He suddenly clenched his fists and fiercely rested his forehead against the sweat-dampened crook of her neck, squeezing out a suppressed pant from his throat, his voice terribly hoarse.
"No."
"We can't keep going."
Any further and he would cross the line.
Callahan's breath was frighteningly hot, and the veins bulging at his temples throbbed under his skin.
A drop of sweat slid down his jaw and smashed onto Leilani's collarbone, burning her so much she flinched.
