Max listened to Wyatt’s advice, a faint smile playing on his lips. “Spoken from experience.”

Wyatt grinned. “Exactly. So you should ask me for advice more often. I won’t be stingy with my guidance. Look at me now, I have a son and a daughter.”

Max chuckled softly. “Not planning on a third?”

“Two is enough,” Wyatt said. “Childbirth is incredibly hard on a woman.”

“You really are a good husband.”

Wyatt stared at him. “I don’t need you to tell me that.”

Anne ran to her father’s side, and Max wrapped an arm around her, his gaze softening as he looked down at his daughter. “Why did you come out? Aren’t you staying with the baby?”

Anne looked up at her dad. “He’s asleep, and Mommy is talking with Aunt Amber, so we came out to play.”

Wyatt suggested, “Then let’s take the kids for a walk while they chat.”

Max agreed with a hum.

Wyatt went to the room to let Amber know and gave her the gift Max had just brought.
