The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 1327

Gian offered an apologetic smile as he wheeled their two suitcases inside.

Kirsten echoed his smile as she stepped in, immediately venting her frustration. "Such terrible luck. I knew we should have booked in advance."

"Now the entire resort is sold out, and you guys are the only ones with any space left."

Danielle laughed and poured them some water. "It's no problem at all, our suite is huge."

"You two can take the guest room upstairs, it's completely empty."

Kirsten opened her mouth to speak, but Gian beat her to it with a helpless sigh. "Don't remind me."

"We already checked with the front desk downstairs. Every single room in the area is booked solid."

"What?" Danielle blinked in surprise. "How is it that packed?"

"It's peak season, we can't do anything about it."

Gian said with a bitter laugh. "A lot of people came up at the last minute, so everything sold out fast."

"We're incredibly lucky just to have this one spare room."

Looking thoroughly defeated, Gian shot a glance at Alexander.

He cleared his throat and tried to sound casual. "It's fine. Worst case scenario, I'll just take the sofa."

Alexander clapped him on the shoulder, highly amused. "Don't worry about it, man. The bed in the guest room is huge. There's plenty of space for the two of you."

Gian's mouth twitched, but he kept quiet.

Danielle led them upstairs and pushed open the door to the guest room.

The space was massive and elegantly decorated. A king-sized bed sat right in the center, with a cozy sofa off to the side.

"See? Not too bad, right?"

Danielle beamed. "There are fresh toiletries in the bathroom, so make yourselves at home."

Kirsten stepped inside and stared at the massive bed.

She gave a small nod and murmured, "Thank you."

"Anytime," Danielle replied cheerfully. "You guys get some rest. I'll head back down."

She turned and left, softly clicking the door shut behind her.

Left entirely alone, the atmosphere between Gian and Kirsten instantly turned painfully awkward.

They stood frozen in place, neither saying a word.

A thick, subtle tension hung in the air.

After what felt like an eternity, Gian cleared his throat and feigned nonchalance. "Well, you take the bed. I'll sleep on the sofa."

Kirsten glanced up at him. Seeing the unnatural stiffness in his expression actually helped ease her own embarrassment.

She managed a small smile. "It's fine. The bed is big enough. We won't even bump into each other."

Gian froze, totally caught off guard by her offer.

He stared at her for a second before nodding. "Okay."

For the rest of the evening, both of them were practically tripping over themselves.

Kirsten escaped to the bathroom to shower, while Gian sat on the sofa, staring blankly at the snowscape outside as his thoughts spun out of control.

He and Kirsten had known each other for years. They'd been close friends since college.
