The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 1328

Gian took the kids out onto the snow while Kirsten and Danielle sat in the nearby lounge area, watching them.

"Did you sleep well last night?" Danielle asked with a playful smile.

Kirsten nodded quickly. "Pretty good."

Danielle studied her face and couldn't hold back a laugh. "I think Gian is really into you."

"Stop making things up," Kirsten deflected. "We're just good friends."

Danielle just smiled and let the subject drop.

Some feelings didn't need to be dragged into the light; they just needed time to bloom.

In the distance, Alexander and Gian were having a blast with the kids.

Niki's bright laughter rang clearly through the crisp air, and Raffy was grinning from ear to ear.

Kirsten kept her eyes fixed on Gian's back. That subtle, fluttering sensation in her chest was only growing stronger.

Deep down, she knew that ever since they arrived on this snowy mountain, something between them had quietly shifted.

-

The truth was, Kirsten wasn't much of a skier.

Danielle and Alexander intentionally gave the two of them plenty of space.

Leaving Gian to give her some one-on-one lessons.

Gian led her to the beginner's slope.

Standing at the top of the gentle incline in her skis, Kirsten stared down at the vast expanse of white, her heart pounding with anxiety.

She gripped her ski poles so tightly her knuckles turned white. She tried to look brave, but her voice betrayed her with a slight tremble. "Gian, are you absolutely sure... this slope is safe?"

Standing right beside her, Gian let out a low chuckle.

He looked incredibly tall and athletic in his black ski suit.

Reaching over, he adjusted her wind-blown scarf. His fingertips lightly brushed against her ear, sending a tiny jolt of electricity through her.

"Relax, it's the bunny hill. It's barely an incline. Even if you fall, it won't hurt."

His voice was warm and deeply melodic. "I'll be right here guarding you. I won't let you wipe out."

Kirsten pressed her lips together and instinctively looked away, unable to hold his gaze.

They might have legally signed a marriage license, but in reality, they were just allies pooling their resources to ward off their families.

Living under the same roof, they slept in separate rooms and mostly talked about work. This kind of physical closeness was entirely uncharted territory.

She gathered her scattered thoughts and bit her lip. "All talk and no action. You better hold onto me tightly."

"Yes, ma'am,"

Gian drawled, his tone dripping with playful teasing.

Kirsten playfully shoved his arm. "Take this seriously!"

Gian just laughed, wrapping his large, warm hand around her wrist.

"Lower your center of gravity, bend your knees, and just follow my rhythm."

He instructed patiently, keeping his voice soft. "Don't tense up. Shift your weight back a bit, nice and easy."

Kirsten did as she was told, but her skis had a mind of their own. After sliding forward barely two feet, her skis crossed.

She let out a yelp as her body pitched forward uncontrollably.

Gian reacted instantly, snaking an arm around her waist to steady her.
