The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 613

Danielle listened to his words and could only find them absurd, almost laughable.

Trust?

When had he ever given her reason to trust him?

When had he ever said anything to reassure her?

Her whole body trembled.

She raised a hand and pointed squarely at the elevator doors. “Get out.”

Alexander looked down on her from his height, his gaze cool and indifferent as he regarded her pale, expressionless face.

“So that’s it? Use me and toss me aside?”

Danielle’s expression was icy; she had no intention of answering.

She stood silent. Alexander stared at her for a few seconds, his eyes unreadable. Then, without another word, he turned and walked away.

Danielle watched him go, her face cold and unreadable. This time, after he left, he didn’t come back.

Nathan was wheeled out of surgery with his life no longer in immediate danger, though he remained unconscious from the blood loss.

Jake Davidson had come by to check on him, and Millie was now under tight security.

On Nathan’s second day in the hospital, Danielle stayed by his side, never leaving, tending to him at every moment. She was busy, but this wasn’t the first time something like this had happened; Danielle kept a mental tally, always vigilant, always present.

On the third day, Nathan finally woke up.

His mind was foggy, heavy with fatigue, and every time he tried to drift back to sleep, the pain at his wound yanked him back to consciousness.

Danielle brought homemade food to the hospital that morning. When she opened the door to the room, Nathan was sitting up in bed, a laptop in his lap, working. He wore glasses perched on his nose; his face was still pale.

“Really?” Danielle scolded as she set the bag down. “Your body’s like this, and you’re still working?”

Nathan glanced up, lips quirking into a faint smile as he took in the food she’d brought. “What did you make for me?”

He looked at her thoughtfully. “I heard you’ve been looking after me these past few days.”

“You saved my life, Nathan. It’s the least I could do.”

She unpacked the food, laying it out one by one.
