The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 671

Nathan used to be polite, always treating her with a gentle fondness, but he still kept a respectful distance—a line that separated brotherly affection from anything more.

Now, though, it felt as if all those boundaries had simply vanished.

“He said I never considered your feelings, that I didn’t respect your perspective. I just did everything my own way. And the more I think about it, the more I realize he’s right.”

Nathan’s gaze was unusually somber. “Even when it came to telling you how I felt—I laid everything bare, without warning, and probably caught you completely off guard.”

“I never stopped to consider if you could handle what I was saying. You tried to stop me, you really did, but I ignored your wishes and said it anyway. I must’ve scared you, didn’t I?”

Danielle drew in a deep breath.

It was clear what he’d come for—he was here to apologize.

“The past is the past, Nathan. There’s no need to bring it up again. We’re still family, just like before.”

Nathan looked at her, his voice soft but insistent. “Danielle, can you really pretend that none of this ever happened?”

“Let’s say someone has hurt you deeply—could you just act as if those things never took place? And if that person ever wanted to come back into your life, would you really be able to forget it all and let them in again?”

Danielle frowned.

Comparing these two situations was, in itself, a contradiction.

“You can’t lump different things together like that.”

Her history with Alexander was nothing like what she shared with Nathan. They weren’t even in the same universe.

Yet Nathan always seemed to bring up Alexander, always measuring himself against him.

Nathan held her gaze. “Still, the things I’ve said to you—they happened. They’re in your mind now, and you can’t just erase them.”

“No matter how much you say there’s nothing between us, deep down, you’ll never see me the same way.”

Danielle’s voice was quiet but steady. “Nathan, I’m not that kind of person. As long as you keep those feelings to yourself, we can still go back to how things were.”

Nathan shook his head. “If I just pretend those feelings don’t exist, it makes my love for you feel cheap.”

His eyes were intense, unwavering. “I won’t lie to you. I’ve never seen you as a sister, and what I feel isn’t brotherly love.”
