The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 686

Alexander stared at the woman in front of him, listening to every sharp question she threw his way. He remained silent, not uttering a single word.

Years of misunderstandings and the thoughts that haunted Danielle were completely at odds with what he had always believed.

Yet, regardless of how much her feelings contradicted his assumptions, emotions had never factored into his decisions.

“You don’t have to trust me,” Alexander finally rasped, his voice hoarse. “But if I set my mind to something, there’s nothing I can’t make happen.”

“If you refuse to cooperate, there are ways to deal with that too.”

He rose abruptly, ready to leave.

Danielle looked at him, her voice trembling with anger. “Alexander! I’ve explained everything you misunderstood. Even now, you won’t tell me a single truth?”

She still had no idea what he was plotting behind her back. His every move seemed suspicious, and Danielle knew deep down that if she remained in the dark, disaster was inevitable.

Alexander paused at the doorway, glancing back at her.

“You just need to believe that I would never hurt you or our daughter.”

His words were cold and unyielding, but there was a conviction there that she hadn’t seen before—a sharp contrast to his usual indifference.

He spoke each word with deliberate gravity, voice rough: “I used to think you didn’t care about me, so I stayed away. You wanted to leave—I let you go. Now, if you want to see me as the one who broke your heart, then I deserve whatever comes my way.”

Danielle looked at him, her heart twisted tight, as if relief was just within reach, only to be blocked at the last moment.

She had already tried to investigate, but every lead came up empty.

Alexander met her gaze. “If I don’t want you to know something, you’ll never be able to find out. Don’t waste your time digging into what’s between us.”

Danielle felt a heavy pressure in her chest, as if it were stuffed with cotton.
