The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 739

“Some people really have no shame. First you threw a tantrum and demanded a divorce, turned your back on the whole family, and now you’re crawling back, desperate for attention. What is it—you think now that Grandma’s gone and there’s no one left to protect you, you can just come running home and expect us to take you in?”

“Paula.” Alexander’s voice cut through the air, cold as steel. His words rumbled out of his chest, carrying a force that made the room tense. “A married daughter is no longer the family’s concern.”

He paused, his gaze lingering on Paula’s flushed, indignant face. “Business concerning the Davidsons is not yours to meddle in.”

The words hit Paula like a stone in the throat. She opened her mouth to retort, but under Alexander’s frosty stare, every word dried up. Red-faced, she stamped her foot and turned sharply away, swallowing whatever protest she’d meant to spit out.

The air thickened, brittle with tension.

“The police are here,” Nathan finally spoke, his voice rough and sandpaper-thin. He glanced at Alexander. “You called them?”

Alexander looked him dead in the eye. “Do you have a problem with that, brother?”

Nathan’s jaw clenched. “Father’s furious.”

No one liked airing dirty laundry outside the family, not when their reputation mattered most.

Alexander gave a short, humorless laugh, but didn’t bother to reply. Instead, he headed toward the living room, boots echoing on the hardwood.

As he reached the doorway, Nathan’s voice stopped Danielle in her tracks.

Nathan’s attention shifted to her, his tone softening, almost coaxing. “Danielle, come with me. I’d like a word.”

She hesitated, her hand tightening around the strap of her purse.

Alexander glanced back at her, warning and worry flickering in his eyes. He’d told her more than once to keep her distance from Nathan.
