Lucy pressed her fingertips to her aching temples. “Julian, this is between you and her. You two can figure it out yourselves.” She was done, not about to get dragged into the mess any longer.
Helene, with tears streaming down her face, clung to Lucy’s hand, refusing to let go.
“Miles, call the police,” Julian said quietly from the side. His voice was so cold it cut through the room. He hadn’t said a word until now.
Helene froze, her whole body turning cold. Did Julian just say that? Call the police? Was he really going to send her to jail?
“Julian, you want me to go to prison?” Her voice trembled, wild with disbelief.
“Shouldn’t you?” Julian’s eyes were icier than she’d ever seen.
Helene dropped to her knees, panic written all over her face. “Why, Julian? Why are you being so ruthless? I’m your fiancée. How can you do this to me?”
Julian looked down at her, unmoved. “I warned you five years ago. I told you not to play games around me. Did you ever listen?”
Helene sobbed, shaking her head. “I only did it because I love you, Julian. You can’t do this. You can’t be so heartless.”
Julian’s brows drew together. “Heartless? Haven’t I given you enough chances?”
He had put up with Helene’s tricks out of guilt so many times. But after everything, he had nothing left to give. She’d used up all his forgiveness.
Helene shook her head so hard her tears scattered everywhere.
The bodyguards moved in, ready to pull her away.
She fought back, ignoring the pain from her injuries. “No… don’t touch me! I’m not leaving! Mrs. Grayson, please, help me, save me…”
