Twin Cupids at Work Daddy Come Home novel Chapter 722

“Madeline... what do we do? We can’t get back...” Brenda mumbled as she shuffled back to Madeline and leaned into her, sounding completely lost.

Madeline’s world was practically spinning out of control. She tried to steady herself, standing up and taking a few shaky steps forward.

She didn’t see something right in front of her. Her foot caught and she stumbled hard, losing her balance and pitching forward.

She waved her hands wildly, desperate to grab onto something. But there was nothing to stop her.

She braced for a painful crash, but it never came.

Madeline wasn’t so drunk she’d let anyone just hold her. She pushed at the embrace, wriggling with stubborn effort to break free.

Julian let her go without a fight. But as soon as he released her, she wobbled and almost fell again.

Julian’s lips curled into a barely contained smile as he stepped in, catching her softly and pulling her back against his chest.

She leaned into his warmth, the steady, rhythmic thrum of his heart against her cheek grounding her in the chaos.

That familiar feeling made her look up, slow and uncertain.

“Julian?” Her voice was soft, almost disbelieving.

“Yeah,” he answered, his tone low and steady.

Madeline let out a heavy sigh. She went limp against him, her head dropping, looking small and defeated. Her words were a mumble, almost drowned by her disappointment. “How could it be you? You forgot about me... you’d never come after me... God, I’m really drunk...”
