Twin Cupids at Work Daddy Come Home novel Chapter 407

They didn’t give her a moment to breathe. Helene screamed at the top of her lungs, but not a single person showed her any mercy.

At first, she hurled curses, her voice sharp and angry. But soon, her anger gave way to desperate begging. “Please, let me go. I don’t want to see him. I just want to leave. Please, I want to leave. Did you hear me? I want to leave!”

“You should save your breath, Ms. Fortner,” Miles replied, his tone flat. “You brought this on yourself. Mr. Grayson warned you so many times, but you just kept testing him. No one can help you now.”

“No, you don’t understand. I had my reasons. I swear, I had my reasons. Please, let me go, let me go!” Helene’s voice grew shrill, but no one listened. Two men grabbed her and dragged her down the dark hallway.

They tossed her into a cold, square iron cage. Only then did someone pull the hood off her head.

She blinked, dazed, taking in the empty, echoing room. Her legs gave out and she slumped to the ground, pale and shaking. After a second, she pushed herself up and rushed to the bars, yelling until her throat hurt. “Let me out! I’m Helene Fortner! You can’t lock me in here! I want to see Christian, do you hear me?”

The heavy door outside creaked open. Julian stepped inside. He was tall, his presence filling the room, every movement slow and deliberate.

Helene flung herself against the bars, reaching for him as if that could save her. “Julian, please, let me go. I’m begging you. We grew up together, remember? We were childhood friends. You can’t do this to me. I know I was wrong, I really do. Just let me go. Please. Please.”

Julian’s face was hard, his eyes cold and empty. Every inch of him radiated danger and fury.

He stared at her like she was already dead.

This time, he really meant it. He wanted her gone. Helene’s fear turned to panic. “No, don’t, Julian, please…I’m begging you”

“Begging?” Julian finally spoke, his voice so cold it made her shiver. “When you were hunting down Madeline, did you ever think you’d end up here?”
