Twin Cupids at Work Daddy Come Home novel Chapter 411

The moment the kids were mentioned, something finally flickered in Julian's eyes.

Seeing that, Miles jumped right in. "The staff said the boys aren't doing well. Noah barely talked before, but now Oliver's gone quiet too. Your grandfather's sick, your mom cries every day. Boss, just stay home tonight, please."

Julian’s eyes softened, just a little.

He knew better than anyone. Maybe someone saved her. Or maybe... the worst had happened.

He kept searching the sea, but it was just stubborn hope now.

Julian pressed his fingers to his forehead. "Tell the team to check everywhere near the water. The shore, the houses nearby, every boat that's been out these last few days. Hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, all of it. Nothing gets missed."

"I'll give the orders now."

...

It was late. The living room felt empty, almost haunted. Julian sat with the two boys, all of them silent, shadows stretching across the room.

The boys clung to their phones, checking every few minutes, scared they’d miss a message from Madeline.

Julian hadn’t slept in days. His eyes were bloodshot but he wasn’t tired. If anything, his insomnia was worse than ever.

Suddenly, the clock chimed. Midnight. The sound echoed through the whole house.

Julian looked at the boys, his voice rough. "It's late. You should go to bed."

Oliver stared at his phone, shoulders slumping. No call from Mom tonight...

Noah’s eyes dropped, sadness written all over his face. It felt like losing their mom all over again.

Oliver finally looked up at Julian. "Will Mom come back tomorrow?"

Julian’s throat tightened. Pain flashed in his eyes, but he forced himself to stay calm. "I don't know. We still haven't found her."
