Year Five The Perfect Goodbye Plan novel Chapter 108

Silvia had crossed paths with Sanderson once before, back when she was helping Shipley. It was a brief encounter over dinner and drinks.

But Sanderson hadn’t shown much interest in Shipley’s line of business. He’d politely declined any further meetings.

Now Silvia understood. Clearly, Sanderson was invested in this new joint project between Luminova and Capital City. That worked to her advantage—he’d had a good impression of her before. If she played her cards right, maybe she could tip the scales in favor of The Ashford Group.

She stood, extending her hand with a polite smile. “Mr. Sanderson, it’s been a while. I still remember what you told me over dinner last time—it really stuck with me. Words to live by.”

Beside her, Finn raised an eyebrow at the exchange. The two seemed more familiar than he’d expected.

Sanderson’s eyes flickered as he studied Silvia, a curious expression on his face. He finally spoke. “So you’re with The Ashford Group now…? You’re part of the Ashford family?”

It seemed the pieces were only just falling into place for him. He glanced from Silvia to Finn, suddenly struck by how similar they looked.

A slow grin spread across Sanderson’s face. “Mr. Finn, it seems fate has brought us together.”

After a few pleasantries, the three of them took their seats again.

Sanderson’s attention lingered on Silvia. He smiled. “You mentioned my advice left an impression, and now you’re working with your family. I suppose—”

Sanderson, ever affable and clearly fond of Silvia, responded in a friendly tone. “Yes. Out of all the companies we’ve reviewed, The Ashford Group is still our favorite. But, because of your… previous involvement, I thought I should at least meet with Shipley.”

Now, seeing that Silvia was no longer working with Shipley, Sanderson’s doubts seemed to vanish. He already knew who he wanted to work with.

Throughout the meal, Finn remained mostly silent while Silvia and Sanderson carried on an animated, pleasant conversation.

After they’d seen Sanderson off, Finn turned a searching look on Silvia, lips pressed together thoughtfully. “Silvia, when you were in Luminova City… you were with Shipley, weren’t you?”
