Chapter 16 Watching Over Orlando Too Closely

He lowered his gaze and didn't look at her.

In his peripheral vision, he saw her fingertips picking up the documents on the table, organizing them methodically, one by one.

A knock on the door came from outside, followed by Lydia's voice.

"Mr. Fletcher."

"Come in."

He withdrew his peripheral vision and focused entirely on the computer in front of him.

Lydia glanced at Penny, her mouth forming a slight smile as she walked briskly forward.

"Just now, Angie called me and said she bought you a gift and had it express delivered. Mr. Fletcher, here it is."

To provoke Penny, Lydia deliberately opened the cufflinks.

"Angie asked if you like them. If you don't, the courier is downstairs, and you can exchange for a different style."

Penny immediately noticed that these cufflinks were the same ones she had given Orlando.

At the time of purchasing the cufflinks, she had felt guilty and had taken her time to select them, so they left a deep impression on her.

Penny could also guess Angie's intentions.

However, this seemed exaggerated, and it showed that she was watching over Orlando too closely.

Orlando looked at the cufflinks, but he had forgotten entirely what Penny had given him. So he accepted them.

"Why did Angie suddenly want to give me something?"

Lydia glanced smugly at Penny. This was the influence of Angie. As soon as Angie's name came up, Orlando would immediately be distracted.

She thought Penny would back down, but Penny remained calm as if this scene hadn't affected her.

What's going on?

Was this woman pretending?

Just as Lydia was about to speak, Orlando's phone rang. It was a call from Angie.

Orlando pressed the answer button, and her voice came through from the other end.

"Orlando, did you receive the gift?"

"Yes."
