The more Chang Er thought about it, the angrier she got. Her delicate body trembled with rage.
Darryl noticed Chang Er’s expression and quickly explained himself, "Empress, I don't want to barge in on your privacy, but I had no other choice. Zhang Jue found someone to impersonate me and he’s trying to deceive you!"
‘Impersonate you?’ Chang Er's beautiful face looked astonished when she heard Darryl. "Why did Zhang Jue get someone to impersonate you?"
She had been cultivating in the Holy Saint Sect and rarely asked about worldly affairs, so she had little to no understanding about what had been going on in The Nine Continents in the past three years!
Darryl took a deep breath and was about to explain the details to Chang Er.
Pitter-patter.
However, before he could start talking, they heard the sounds of footsteps in the yard outside. It sounded like a lot of people were coming into the yard!
‘F*ck!’ Darryl frowned, feeling panicked.
It was a no-brainer. It must be the people from the Holy Saint Sect and probably Zhang Jue as well!
To be honest, Darryl was not afraid of them. What concerned him was if he and Chang Er were seen together in that mortifying state, they would not be able to explain themselves.
Chang Er was also shaking nervously! She would not want to be seen with Darryl in a sullied state.
She began to look around for a place to hide Darryl. However, the furnishings in her room were simple and there was nowhere for him to hide.
Suddenly, Darryl thought of a clever idea. He hugged Chang Er and laid on the soft couch, covered them up with a blanket, and made it look like Chang Er was resting!
Chang Er was embarrassed and angry as her face flushed. "What are you doing?"
She felt uneasy with Darryl's hand around her waist! She was even more embarrassed when she recalled the shameful thing that happened earlier.
