At that moment, everyone was completely stunned.
"Isn't that guy the son-in-law of the Damien family?"
"Yes, how does he know Mister Cunning?"
"Could it be that this live-in son-in-law has another identity?"
Everyone's surprised remarks kept coming. Lolita was stunned, too, as she stared blankly at Darryl, unable to speak.
‘What is his relationship with Mister Cunning?’ she wondered.
When she finally came to her senses, she asked Darryl, “Darryl, do you know each other?”
Finally, Lolita regathered her thoughts; she could not help but ask Darryl, "Do you know each other?"
“This beautiful lady must be Lolita. Him and I–” Cunning said, but he was interrupted by Darryl’s look.
“I’m just an unknown apothecary; how would I know Mister Cunning? I think Mister Cunning made a mistake.” Darryl smiled.
Darryl looked serious when he said that. At the same time, he winked at Cunning secretly.
Cunning was a wise man and understood immediately that Darryl did not want to reveal his identity. He patted his forehead quickly and smiled embarrassingly, "Oh, this gentleman is right. I mistook you for another person."
Then, he smiled humbly at Darryl. “I’m sorry. You really look like an old friend of mine from a long time ago.”
Sigh!
