The Queen frowned at Darryl's expression. "Darren, why are you so happy?"
Darryl was embarrassed; he scratched his head. "Nothing. I feel proud and happy that Your Majesty trusted me so much to ask me to keep the gift safe."
Darryl replied in a serious tone; he was secretly nervous if he had made it unnoticeable.
'F*ck! I was so excited just now that I almost exposed myself.'
The Queen nodded in satisfaction after hearing Darryl's reply. She said, "Then, don't let me down. Before we see the Goddess of Light, take good care of the gift!"
After that, the Queen thought of something and said, "There's a hidden mechanism set up in that box. If you open it forcibly, it will catch fire. Remember that."
'Hidden mechanism?'
Darryl was stunned. Then, he said with a smile, "Don't worry, Your Majesty. I will take good care of it and never try to open it up on my own." Darryl promised, but the feeling of excitement was evident in his eyes.
'I have finally gotten hold of the second part of the Holy Jade Scripture. How could I not open it up and take a look? Even if there is a mechanism, it won't trouble me too much.'
The Queen spent a bit more time talking to Darryl before dismissing him.
Darryl could not wait to study the metal box once he was back in his room.
In the beginning, Darryl was full of confidence. He grew depressed after trying more than a dozen times, yet he could not open the metal box.
'D*mn it! This metal box is way too complicated!'
Darryl felt dejected, and he felt like activating his internal energy to destroy the metal box. Still, he dismissed the silly idea after he was reminded of the Queen's advice that the metal box would catch on fire if it were opened forcibly.
Darryl was sweating profusely for quite some time.
The second part of the Holy Jade Scripture was in the box, yet he could not get his hands on it. Anyone would be depressed under such circumstances.
"Darren!"
Suddenly, he heard a call from outside, and then a slim figure walked into his room. The person was wearing a yellow dress; she looked beautiful and fascinating.
It was Angeline.
D*mn it!
