Lolita looked a little more relaxed after Thea explained everything. "Thea, what's the matter? Why are you looking for me at such a late hour?"
Thea pondered and said slowly, "Lolita, I heard Donnie came back and took your position as the Clan Head and put you under house arrest. I’m a little worried."
"You— " Lolita was very touched, but she was still a little confused. "Why are you being so kind to me?”
Lolita and Thea were acquaintances, but they were not friends, so Lolita was curious why Thea would take the risk to visit her that night.
Thea smiled faintly. "Actually, I made the trip this time for Darryl. Darryl is my friend and you are his wife. How can I just sit back and watch if something wrong is going on with you?"
Thea threw Darryl a few glances when she explained to Lolita. Lolita trembled when Thea mentioned Darryl and she felt confused.
What surprised Lolita even more was that Thea, who had always appeared to be unwelcoming, saw Darryl as her friend.
Thea continued when Lolita remained quiet. "There was just too much doubt surrounding Master Damien’s death. I managed to find out some information at that time. Although there was no conclusive evidence, I can be sure that Darryl was framed. You— you have misunderstood him."
‘What?’ Lolita was taken aback and she felt her brain buzzing. ‘Even Thea said so. Have I misunderstood Darryl?’
"Thea, during this period of time, have you…have you seen Darryl?" she asked.
"He..." Thea hesitated and glanced at Darryl subconsciously before replying, “I have seen him. He’s safe now, so you don’t need to worry.”
After chatting for a little longer, Thea bid goodbye to Lolita after Darryl gave her a hint.
