Perfect Husband, The Destined One novel Chapter 3502

Seeing how calm Darryl was, Grady's facade began to crack. 'Does Darryl have some sort of privileged relationship with the Temple of Light?' Suddenly, the atmosphere in the hall became awkward.

"Master Grady, is that true? Is he really from the Temple of Light?" Donnie asked in a panicked whisper. They would be in deep sh*t if that were true.

Grady took a deep breath, and the expression in his eyes changed. "Impossible! He would have come with the 12 paladins if he was one of them, but instead, he came with Thea. So, there's no need to panic," he said calmly.

Then he looked at the time and said, "The 12 paladins would be arriving soon. We should get ready to welcome them. As for Darryl, let's keep him alive for a little while longer."

Grady would like nothing more than to kill Darryl, but the banquet would be cut short if a fight broke out. After thinking it through, he decided it would be better to welcome the 12 paladins and deal with Darryl after the banquet was over. There was no need to worry he would not be able to kill him with the other families there.

Donnie nodded at Grady and turned to face the guests with a smile on his face. "Ladies and gentlemen, the banquet is about to begin. Please take a seat!"

All the guests did that. They quickly went to their seats and ignored Darryl and Thea.

"Darryl! You should go now! Donnie and Grady will never let you leave this place alive. They will kill you once the banquet is over. Same goes for the other families—they wish for your death!" Lolita said as she pulled on Darryl's arms.

Darryl felt relieved at Lolita's concern. "There's nothing to be scared of; I can handle myself," Darryl said with a smile. Lolita was panicking but did not know what else she could say to convince him.

"Lolita, have faith in Darryl," Thea said. Unlike Lolita, she knew who Darryl really was. As the Saint Lord of the Temple of Lights, he feared no one in any of the six principalities.

At that very moment, the guests broke out in excited whispers.

"The 12 paladins are here!"

"They're so strong and cool!"

The 12 paladins, donned in gold armor, slowly entered the big hall and were instantly greeted by a smiling Donnie. "Welcome, Your Excellencies! It's a great honor to have all of you here."

After that, all the other guests went up to pay their respect too. They greeted the 12 paladins with reverence and excitement. In contrast, the 12 paladins' faces remained impassive by their greetings, and from time to time, they would sneak a glance at Darryl, who remained sitting.

"That's enough. We have come here to join the banquet and to announce the name of the new Mayor of Pearl City," the Pegasus Paladin said as he swept his gaze across the guests.

The Golden Lion Paladin had already taken out the appointment letter decreed by the Temple of Lights. Immediately, all eyes turned to him. Donnie could not hide the excitement and happiness on his face. He was sure he would be the new Mayor. After all, he was the head of the Damien family.

While everyone waited with bated breath, the Golden Lion Paladin slowly read the appointment letter in a clear and loud voice. "As the revered Goddess of Light had decided, the new Mayor of Pearl City will be succeeded by someone from the Damien family, and her name is Miss Lolita!"
