Madame Pandora could have secretly taken the Holy Jade Scripture out of the box because she held a distinguished status, was highly trusted by the Queen, which meant she could freely enter and exit the palace.
Darryl decided to keep on observing Madame Pandora to see how she would answer Harper.
"You! What Holy Jade Scripture? I don't even know what you're talking about!" Madame Pandora said. Even though she looked serious, there was no denying the uncertainty in her eyes.
She had taken the second half of the Holy Jade Scripture in the Thousand Variations Box. The night before the Queen went to Pearl City, and when Darryl was confiscating all of Marshall's possessions, Madame Pandora had taken the opportunity to sneak into Darryl's room to steal the second half of the Holy Jade Scripture.
It was true that the Queen was the only person who knew how to open the Thousand Variations Box, but Madame Pandora had seen her open it so many times that she could do it with her eyes closed.
After getting her hands on the second half of the Holy Jade Scripture, Madame Pandora quickly delivered it out of the capital city and escaped with her family. After all, she knew what would be coming for her once someone found out that she had stolen the gift meant for the Goddess of Light. However, it never crossed her mind that she would be stopped by a group of men-in-blacks just as she was about to cross the border.
Harper laughed coldly when he heard her reply. He shook his head and said, "Your act doesn't fool me. I wouldn't have ambushed you here if I was not a hundred percent sure you have it."
Although Harper made it look like he was a bandit, he was actually a spy working for the Crescent Moon Principality. He had been sent to the Golden Lion Principality to uncover confidential information.
Harper had been working undercover in the Golden Lion Principality for three years and, in those three years, had planted many moles within the royal and noble families. Therefore, it took him no time to receive the intel that Madame Pandora had stolen the Queen's gift meant for the Goddess of Light.
Madame Pandora was starting to panic. Only those closest to her knew she had taken the Holy Jade Scripture. How did Harper find out about it? Unless one of her closest aides had betrayed her!
She glanced at Harper and shook her head. "I don't care whether you believe me or not, but I don't have what you're looking for."
Harper's face darkened. "Very well, it seems like I need to force it out of you," he said coldly. Then, he shouted, "Brothers, spare Madame Pandora and kill the rest of them!"
Instantly, the men-in-blacks activated their saint energy and rushed toward Madame Pandora.
"Mountain bandits! You will pay for your impudence!" Madame Pandora shouted angrily.
The guards around her shouted, "Protect Madame Pandora! Don't let anyone near her! Kill them all!" They rushed to attack the incoming men-in-blacks.
However, they were no match for the men-in-blacks, and soon, each of them fell onto a pool of blood, staining the air around them with the scent of death. Madame Pandora bit her lips until it bled.
