"Forget it," Darryl said with a wave of his hand. Then, he smiled at Peacock Lilibet and said, "It's just a game. There's no need to take it so seriously. Why don't you just pour me a drink?"
Winning the contest had put him in a great mood, and he was feeling generous. He knew that Peacock Lilibet had done that because she thought he was the cause of the Red Sparrow Queen's death. So, he decided to let her off the hook. After all, he already got the Power of the Bird Ancestor from the Queen.
Peacock Lilibet was taken aback for a moment. She could not believe he would let her off so easily. She made her way slowly toward him and poured the drink into his cup. Darryl nodded and drank all of it in one go.
"Remember to not be too overconfident in the future. You'll never know what will happen," Darryl said to her with a smile.
Peacock Lilibet's face flushed red again as unhappiness rose in her heart. 'How dare he lecture me when it was pure luck that he had won against me?' She wanted to talk back to him but stopped herself just in time.
The White Tiger Cling clapped his hands and laughed. "That was truly spectacular! I never thought Your Excellency would be able to get so many Echeveria peacockii in such a short time. I'm really curious as to how you did it."
The White Tiger King's eyes were filled with curiosity. Even with Peacock Lilibet's speed, she could only get one. So, how was it possible for a human like Darryl to pick ten times more than her? It was simply too incredible!
Suddenly, all eyes gathered on Darryl; everyone was curious about that too. Peacock Lilibet was staring intently at Darryl, waiting for his answer.
Darryl scratched his head and laughed. "I guess it was just pure luck."
The audience was in an uproar. The way he said it made it sound so effortless.
The White Tiger King was a wise man. He could tell Darryl had only given them a perfunctory answer but decided not to pursue it. He smiled and said, "That doesn't change the fact it was an exciting contest!" Then, he held up his glass and said, "Today is a day of celebration! Let's drink until we drop!"
"Drink until we drop!" everyone said in unison.
The celebration banquet lasted for several hours and did not end until very late at night. During that period, Darryl asked the White Tiger King many questions about the enchanted barrier, but the clues he got were minimal. After all, the demons trapped there did not understand the art of formation. Otherwise, they would have broken out of the barrier a long time ago.
Early next morning, Darryl went to see the White Tiger King.
