Cranos took a deep breath and said, "Don't ask any questions and just follow me."
There was an unprecedented sense of solemnity on his face. Then, he entered the passage with a confused Skylar following from behind him.
Skylar gasped as soon as he stepped foot into the passage. He saw countless steps, but he did not know where it led as there was no end in sight. He would not even be surprised if they arrived at the center of the earth.
The further they went, the more spacious the surroundings became. He never thought there was a cave beneath the manor. That made him even more confused.
After walking for a while, they came to a passage blocked by a layer of rippling forcefield. It was filled with strange power fluctuations.
"Father, what is that?" Skylar asked.
"An enchanted barrier," Cranos answered him.
Skylar was about to ask something else when he saw that Cranos had already passed through the enchanted barrier. He quickly followed after him. After crossing the barrier, he felt that the space below was filled with a powerful force. Still, they had not reached the end of the passage.
The further down they went, the more shocked he felt. Every time they walked a certain distance, there would be an enchanted barrier, and every time they passed through an enchanted barrier, the power permeating the surrounding air became stronger. However, that did not frighten him at all. Instead, he felt inexplicably excited.
In the dark, Skylar sensed the power in the air had an inexplicable intimacy, like a blood connection. He did not know why but he sensed a familiar familiarity from the energy in the air; it was as if he and the energy shared the same blood.
After they passed through 18 enchanted barriers, they finally arrived at the end of the passage. What greeted them was an open space as ample as the entire Cloud Valley, and in the middle of it was a colossal round stone platform.
A burly figure, donned in black armor, was sitting cross-legged motionlessly on top of the stone platform. There seemed to be no signs of life; it was as if he had turned into the stone he was sitting on.
Even so, looking at him, Skylar felt suffocated and shocked. 'Who is that? It looks like he died a long time ago. He must be someone extraordinary to be able to give off such a terrifying force even in death.'
Suddenly, a teardrop-shaped crystal floating in front of the burly figure caught his eyes. The crystal was the size of a fist and exuded a dazzling light and a terrifying aura. It was then Skylar realized that the energy that he had been sensing came from that crystal.
'What is that treasure? And who is that man?'
"Skylar!"
