As soon as Skylar was done talking, he removed a crimson red bead from his body and examined it vaguely. The red bead had lost its opaque appearance and turned translucent. A closer look unveiled a black-coloured worm encased within.
In the next second, he struck Neil's acupoints and stuffed the bead into his mouth.
"Hrrrk!" Neil gagged.
Before he could react, the bead had already made its way to the pit of his stomach.
"You... What did you make me eat?" Neil was stunned. Although he was also brimming with anger, he couldn't resist the urge to ask.
Skylar looked at him with a tranquil gaze. "What you just swallowed is called a Soul-devouring Bloodworm. This special worm will make its way to your skull and embed itself in your brain. It will slowly feed and eat away at your essence, just like a parasite.
"Don't worry! It's not the end of the world yet; I have full control of this bloodworm swimming in you. As long as you listen to my every word and do as I say, I will guarantee your survival. Unless you prefer having a worm slowly suck the last remaining ounce of essence from your soulless body — you decide," Skylar said, slightly taunting Neil, who could only lay helplessly on the ground.
"Also, to save both of us time, here's some advice. Don't even bother trying to remove the bloodworm. As we're talking, the bloodworm has already sufficiently fused with your essence," Skylar conveyed his final warning.
'Soul-devouring Bloodworm?' Neil was still frozen in shock.
After hearing all this, he was filled with all sorts of conflicting thoughts and emotions. His body froze in place.
'Such a terrifying name for such a minuscule-looking worm. Just thinking about it sends chills down my spine. I've been wandering in the world of cultivators for years but have yet to witness anything this eerie and oppressive,' Neil thought.
At this time, he was still unaware that the Soul-devouring Bloodworm was an ability that stems from Skylar's demonic essence. It wasn't something that he could just find in The Nine Mainland, so it was only natural for him to be clueless about this.
A few seconds later, Neil looked at Skylar with squinted eyes and gritted teeth. "Are you trying to blackmail me? You must be dreaming if you think putting my life on the line is enough to crack me! I'd rather die than be manipulated into being your pawn."
With these final words, Neil was about to bite his tongue and end himself.
