Her heart was bleeding. Agreeing meant that she would be Skylar's woman, but what choice did she have? It was not like she could just let Dax die.
Skylar was overjoyed. He laughed and said, "Don't worry, Miss Debra. I'll make good on my promise. I'll get you some fresh blood now."
He quickly got up to go to his room while Debra stared out of the restaurant's window blankly.
Meanwhile, back at the Carter family's manor, the entire atmosphere had become suffocating because of Dax's condition. Suddenly, a handsome figure shot down from somewhere in the distance.
Darryl had returned! He had rushed back without stopping after leaving the Hidden Heroes Sect. He thought that Chester and the others must be worried sick about him.
"Young Master has come back!"
"Young Master!"
All the disciples gathered around him happily. At the same time, Chester and the others had also come out after hearing all the commotion. They were ecstatic to see that Darryl was safe and sound, but there was also a trace of sorrow in their eyes.
"What's wrong?" Darryl asked when he saw the expressions on their faces. He had a bad feeling about it.
Chester sighed and said, "We've looked all over for you after the two mysterious old men kidnapped you, and Dax bumped into Skylar at the Sky Park…"
Chester spent the next few minutes detailing everything that had happened to Darryl. "And now Dax is still unconscious. A few famous doctors came by just now, but there was nothing they could do."
A jolt went through Darryl's heart. He quickly ran to Dax's room and saw that he was still unconscious. His eyes were closed, his face pale, and his breathing weak.
"Dax! That is all my fault." Darryl said guiltily as tears streaked down his face. He felt like a thousand knives were stabbing his heart.
'Skylar!' Trembling with rage, he clenched his fists tightly. His eyes were bloodshot. 'D*mn him! I will make him pay for that!'
He walked toward Dax quickly and started to check on his condition while Chester and the others, who had followed him in, were looking at him with hopeful anticipation. If anyone could save Dax, it would be Darryl, who had personally trained under Divine Farmer and was skilled in the art of elixir making.
However, Darryl stiffened after he completed the diagnosis. The power in Dax's body was too weird. That was the first time Darryl had ever come across a case where a patient's meridians and elixir field were utterly suppressed.
