Everyone in the main hall was stunned when they saw Darryl. His appearance was indeed timely as they were just talking about him. However, they did not know who the old man was next to him. They had never seen him before.
A few moments later, Elder Fire growled at Darryl. "Darryl, you despicable man! How dare you show up here? You murdered our former Sect Master and today you'll pay for it!"
Darryl was baffled as he stared at Jade Immortal. 'I killed Agatha? When did that happen?'
Darryl turned to Veron, who was seated. "Your mom died? What happened?"
"Darryl, stop pretending. Back at the altar of the Five Poison Sect, you dressed as a man in black and lured my mom to the back hill and pushed her off the cliff. If you call yourself the hero of the Nine Mainland, you should own up to the things you did," Veron said, enraged.
Darryl was baffled. When did he go to the Five Poison Sect? When did he dress up as a man in black? He forced a smile and said, "To be honest, I've been in the Godly Region this whole time and I've never been to the Five Poison Sect. I'm sure someone set me up."
"Shut up!" Elder Fire slammed the table and growled at Darryl. "Stop defending yourself! Our Sect Master saw it with her own eyes. What else do you have left to say?"
"We shouldn't waste our time on such a shameless disciple. Now that he's shown up on his own, let's kill him and do justice for our former Sect Master!"
"Yes, kill him!"
The people at the main hall were criticizing Darryl. Veron had verified that Agatha's death was a homicide. There was no mistake about it.
Darryl ignored their yelling and cursing. The purpose of him going to the Hidden Hero Sect was to find out about the whereabouts of the Carter family. He took a deep breath and asked Veron, "Is the Carter family with the Hidden Hero Sect?"
He appeared calm, but deep down, he felt nervous. He had been accused of murdering Agatha. Given such a deep feud, something would have happened to the Carter family if they were to be with the Hidden Hero Sect.
