Perfect Husband, The Destined One novel Chapter 4022

Darryl's face glowed with confidence. "When we enter the formation, I'm going to form a protective barrier around us with my own strength. However, my fairy soul power is limited. I need you behind me to boost my spiritual strength, got it?"

So that was the case.

Grunt's eyes flashed. He nodded with a smile. "No worries, Prince Consort. I'll give it all I've got.

He spoke those words filled with warmth. However, there was nothing but coldness in Grunt's heart.

'First, you take Princess Dorothy from me and rob her of her innocence, and now you're asking for a spiritual boost? Are you out of your mind?'

Grunt had thought it through. He would pretend to agree, then wait until the timing was right to abandon Darryl and leave him to die in the Blood Sacrifice of Fiends.

Darryl did not sense that Grunt was up to anything. He nodded happily at his approval.

Right after that, Darryl turned toward the soldiers behind him and said, "Wait for orders from Grunt and me. All you have to do is stand guard while both of us go in there. Do not make any rash decisions, do you hear me?"

"Yes!"

The soldiers chorused in agreement.

Darryl could not wait any longer. He turned toward Grunt and said, "Alright, we're good to go now."

In a single move, Darryl soared toward the Blood Sacrifice of Fiends.

Grunt took a deep breath, taking off after him.

Soon enough, Darryl and Grunt reached the entrance to the formation. The 18 stone totems stood tall as if they were sentient. They emitted a bloodied fog every time they sensed someone approaching.

The bloody fog spread like wildfire, quickly enveloping the surroundings as well as Grunt and Darryl. On top of that, the fog also contained strong energy repressing forces.

That was…

The haze of scarlet and crimson was so thick it was practically impossible to see through that. The tens of thousands of soldiers from afar could only watch as Darryl and Grunt disappeared. All of them were tense.

It was a bone-chilling sight!
