"Do you want to die?"

Skylar could hardly contain his anger when Kendall's blow drew closer. He moved to strike back, but the grip he still had on the young girl made him unable to move in time at all.

The blow landed heavily on Skylar's body. With a dull hum, Skylar's body jerked as he stumbled a good number of steps backward.

At the same time, the girl was sent flying as well. She landed against a pole, the impact killing her instantly.

Had that happened in the past, Kendall would never have been able to hurt Skylar. However, she had combined the ancient poisonous centipede's internal energy with her own, and her strength had improved tremendously.
