"Everything's fine."
Kendall smiled as she spoke in a lilting tone, "My sect master's absorbed too many children's spirits and fainted from the force."
Kendall cast a glance at Skylar before she continued to say, "I've taken a look at him, and he's fine. He'll be alright with a few days of rest."
Fainted?
Orlando's brows knitted at the words.
Kendall did not bother explaining further. She walked forward and picked up Skylar. "I'm going to take him away so he can heal by himself. Let His Majesty know if he returns and is curious about it."
Kendall's face was the picture of seriousness as she spoke, but her eyes flashed slyly.
Kendall was an intelligent woman. She knew that it would be difficult to kill Skylar, and if she were to leave him there, the news of her attacking him was sure to get out once he woke up.
On top of that, Kendall did not understand most of the information in the scroll. Thus, her best bet was to leave with Skylar and question him about it when he woke up.
"You can't do that!"
Orlando rejected her statement without a moment's hesitation. "His Majesty specifically instructed me to watch after Honorable Master Blanc with my best efforts. You can't take him away."
Orlando was wary of her intentions then as he stared at Kendall.
That woman was a strange one. Skylar could recover in the palace, which was the safest place for him to do that. However, she insisted on taking him away. It certainly was suspicious.
Orlando raised his hand.
At the signal, the guards behind him immediately surrounded Kendall.
At the same time, there was a smile on Orlando's face. "I know you're one of Honorable Master Blanc's subordinates, but please don't make things hard for me."
Kendall's stunning features grew ashen with fury.
