Yvette smiled. "Watch your tone, Lord Kenny. You have no right to order me around. You, of all people, should know who I am. I am only here today to help; I'm not at your mercy.
"Also, I've said that I would only help you attack the royal city. I have no obligation in helping you go after anyone after that."
"Do you really think that I'm at your mercy?"
Then, Yvette's exquisite features seemed wrought with fearlessness and hatred.
On the other hand, Lord Kenny's face turned an ugly shade of red as he flared with anger.
Yvette was out of her mind, daring to disrespect him that way in front of so many people.
At the same time, the warriors could hardly believe what they had just heard either. They broke out into angry whispers, speaking among themselves.
"That Yvette Lane is out of her mind."
"Exactly! Daring to go against His Majesty that way even after going against his orders!"
Then, a general stepped forward quickly. He pointed at Yvette and said crudely, "You've got some nerve speaking to His Majesty like that, Yvette Lane! Don't think you can do whatever you want just because you're skilled.
"Indeed, you've helped us greatly during the battle at the Hazel Hen Gate. But we managed to take down the royal city without your help at all, so don't act all high and mighty."
Everyone else nodded in agreement.
Yvette did not lose her temper at all. Instead, she smiled and said, "I'll give you credit for that, I guess. Well, since you've taken the royal city anyway, my work here is done. I'll be going now."
Yvette turned after completing her sentence and walked out of the palace.
She did not want things in the North Moana royal city to turn out that way, but it was too late to change anything. The least she could do was rush back to get that scroll from Skylar.
Taking care of the Fiend Soul Takeover meant that she would no longer need to be at Skylar's mercy after that.
"Stand there!"
She had barely moved when Lord Kenny called her out.
Yvette turned around to look at him. "What is it?"
