"She appeared to be helping us but was sending a letter for assistance the whole time?"
The voices grew as Yvette shifted uncomfortably.
Crap! Lord Kenny would be sure to tell Skylar if the truth came out. She would have no hope in trying to get her hands on that Reverse Fiend Soul Takeover chant.
After all, Skylar was a cunning and powerful man. It would be hard to deal with him.
However, Yvette snapped back to her senses quickly enough.
She had not signed her name on the letter. Lord Kenny could not prove that she wrote the letter from handwriting.
She would never admit it.
Yvette exhaled lightly as she put on a wry smile and faced Lord Kenny. "You seem to be so intent that I wrote to the Hidden Hero Sect, Lord Kenny. Where's that letter? Let's take a look at it, shall we?"
Lord Kenny's gaze hardened as he smirked. "Fine. Deny it all you want. Watch your step, or I'll tell Honorable Master Blanc about you."
Lord Kenny had already sent the letter off to the New World. Of course, he could not take it out then.
He had thought that all through. Bringing up the letter was just a ploy to mess with Yvette's psyche, and he did not intend to expose her so directly. The plan was to show Skylar the letter and then let him deal with Yvette.
Since Lord Kenny could not show the letter, Yvette finally put her guard down. She spoke lightly, "If there's nothing else, I'll be on my way." She turned around and walked out of the palace in large strides.
After she left the palace, Yvette did not hurry to get away. Instead, she hid on the palace roof, spying on Lord Kenny secretly.
Yvette was incredibly clever, and she knew that Lord Kenny would never let her go so easily. Since he had mentioned the letter, he must have had something up his sleeves.
Meanwhile, in the palace.
F*ck!
Lord Kenny's face was ashen following Yvette's exit, as the rage in his heart grew tenfold.
That b*tch had just left like that. She did not respect him at all. Would he still have his pride as a king if that continued on?
Lord Kenny grew with anger the more he thought about it, and he turned to wave his hands at the generals around him. "You're all dismissed. Get to cleaning up the battlefield. I'm going to rest."
