When he heard the threats, Darryl did not take them seriously. He chuckled and ignored it.
Soon, they reached the main hall. Cumulonimbus Swae was sitting there, slowly sipping his tea in a relaxed manner.
When Cumulonimbus saw Cory bringing someone into the hall, he furrowed his brows and asked, "Cory, who is he?"
Cumulonimbus sized Darryl up as he asked Cory.
The man in front of him looked very strange. He had blood-red marks on his face. His hair was red too, but his eyes seemed rather familiar. He felt like he knew that person.
"Master!" Cory stepped forward and said, "This is a conman! He arrived at the main gate, asking to see you. He even said that he was your friend. These conmen are getting brazen! Master, what do you think we should do with him?"
Cory looked smug and hopeful; he wanted praises from Cumulonimbus.
A friend?
Cumulonimbus was stunned for a while. He stood up and observed Darryl closely. "Do I know you?"
Darryl let out a sigh of relief. He smiled and said, "Sect Master Swae, can we speak in private?" Then, Darryl glanced at Cory.
Cumulonimbus furrowed his brows. That man seemed quite interesting.
At the same time, Cory was immediately on his guard. He looked at Darryl coldly and said, "Who do you think you are? What right do you have to speak with my master in private?"
Then, Cory said to Cumulonimbus loudly, "Master, we have no idea who this person is. Don't trust what he is saying. No one knows whether he is trying to trick you."
Bloody hell!
Darryl did not know whether to cry or laugh. At the same time, he was a little infuriated too.
'This guy is nuts! I've already said that I'm a friend of Cumulonimbus, yet he is still speaking against me. Do I really look that untrustworthy?' Darryl thought.
He said calmly, "Sect Master Swae. My hands and legs are tied. How can I trick you?"
