Immediately, Morticia's face changed; she blushed. Her body also trembled.
'Idiot! What an idiot!'
'As one of the twelve Fiend Martyrs, my status is extraordinary. Everyone is respectful to me. But that man wants me to call him Handsome?'
'That's so humiliating.'
The more Morticia thought about it, the angrier she got. She glared at Darryl and said, "You're courting death!"
"It's fine if you don't want to do that." Darryl looked carefree as he lay in the bronze bell. "So what if you don't want to call me Handsome? Why do you need to get angry?
"I've given you the conditions. If you find it difficult, then find somewhere else to hide. Don't disturb my rest." Immediately, he closed his eyes.
Darryl did not intend to get Morticia to call him Handsome; he was just teasing her. 'Morticia is too bossy. I must teach her a lesson.'
"You—" Morticia was furious as she looked at Darryl's undaunted behavior. 'That man is such a rascal.'
Morticia wanted to kill Darryl, but he was too powerful. If they were to start a fight, she might not be able to defeat him.
More importantly, the soldiers were still searching below them. If they fought, the soldiers would notice them.
"Fine!" She inhaled deeply and whispered, "Handsome." Her voice was incredibly soft. One would not be able to hear her if one did not listen closely.
She did not want to call Darryl Handsome, but she had no choice.
Since Morticia had finally compromised, Darryl's mood lightened, but he was not done yet. "What did you call me? I can't hear you clearly."
"Hand—" Morticia pursed her lips, and she was hesitant. However, she still shouted, "Handsome."
Darryl laughed and nodded in approval. "Good. You may rest now. I'll protect you." Then, he moved inward to make room.
Morticia became angry. "Don't be presumptuous."
"Okay, okay." Darryl did not want to push Morticia's limit and said, "I'll stop talking. Go ahead and rest."
