Darryl smiled lightly as he pointed at the plaza behind the stone steele and said, "The inscriptions on the steele said that we have to go through this plaza to have a great discovery."
Darryl spoke in all seriousness, but his eyes were filled with doubt.
The inscriptions mentioned that going through the plaza was the only way, but Darryl had doubts that it hid some truth from them—the truth being that the plaza in front of them was hidden with mysteries.
From a distance, it looked normal, but upon closer inspection, every single stone steele in the plaza was arranged in an order.
Darryl noticed it when they crossed the chain bridge earlier.
When he saw that, the first thing that popped into his mind was the ancient tomb of Lu Bu that they discovered years ago. There was also a plaza before they went through the final Grand Spiritual Treasure Palace.
That plaza was filled with stone steeles, and every steele had its own unique pattern. It looked harmless, but it was actually a dangerous formation called the Nine Star Flame Formation.
Darryl remembered it clearly after they found Lu Bu and Diaochan's hall where they used to sleep in. Rachel's boyfriend, Ewan, stole the Blood Battle Eight Directions Scripture when Darryl was not looking. Eventually, he died in the fire of the Nine Star Flame Formation.
Even though that incident happened years ago, Darryl could still recall everything clearly.
The plaza before them looked oddly similar to the plaza at Lu Bu's ancient tomb. However, it did not have any formations. Instead, it was filled with hidden traps.
The traps were well hidden; it was impossible to see with the naked eye. However, Darryl deduced the traps' placement with the Nine Palaces Bagua Formation.
"Haha!"
Mahoney was excited upon hearing Darryl's words. He chuckled, "As expected of you, Darryl. Haha! I feel much more comfortable knowing that you can lead us through this."
Mahoney then gestured for his people to follow him and Darryl into the plaza.
As Darryl started moving forward, he turned around to look at Kendra and gestured for her to follow quietly behind as well.
Phew!
