Kendra would not have been that anxious if it was anyone else. However, Darryl was different. Even though he had zero abilities, he was still well versed in everything else.
Kendra felt secure around Darryl even when they were in great predicaments. They were able to solve it easily.
Her plan was to invite Darryl to investigate the realm with her, and if they found any treasure, they would split it. Since the Red Shirt Crusade men wanted to take him away, Kendra was naturally unwilling.
Friend?
Darryl did not react to Kendra's words, but internally, he snickered to himself.
Kendra was such a hypocrite. She wanted to kill him just moments ago. She only referred to him as a friend after knowing he could be useful to her.
However, Darryl was aware that Mahoney was not a good man either.
Mahoney frowned and said to Kendra, "That's not right, Miss Kendra. I saw it from afar when we were crossing the bridge. You waved your sword around at him, wanting to attack. If you were truly friends, why would you attack him?"
Darryl then looked over at Darryl and said, "You can be honest with me, brother. Have you been captured by this lady? Don't be afraid. If you say yes to my proposal, I promise to get you out of your current predicament."
The men from the Red Shirt Crusade retrieved their weapons, ready to attack anytime.
The air tensed up in an instant.
Kendra bit her lips down furiously and said to Mahoney, "You… You're just looking for trouble Master Mahoney."
Being the Senior Sister of the Godly Eagle sect, Kendra had never been disrespected that way.
Mahoney scoffed without saying a word. He looked at Darryl, waiting for a response.
Kendra took a deep breath and looked at Darryl, "Do you want to go with them or me? You choose."
