"Sect Master!"
Even so, Gromo was able to maintain his composure. Tears streamed down his cheeks as he lifted his head to gaze at Darryl and pleaded. "I'm sorry, please, please help me, please help…"
Gromo was no fool. He knew that if Darryl could tell that the Golden Pill had lost effect, he would have a cure for it.
After all, it was the head of the Elixir Sector.
"Of course!"
Darryl looked at him in amusement and pity. "But you've lost the bet. Have you forgotten what you should do first?"
"It's my fault. I know it's my fault." Gromo's expression twisted in agony, and his chest ached with regret. If he had known that the Golden Pill had lost its effect, he would have never stood his ground and swallowed it in one go.
It was all too late, though.
However, it was embarrassing to confess to Darryl his shortcomings as the elder of the Pure Yang Division.
Darryl grinned as he turned to face Cormac after observing his hesitation. "The weather's pretty good today. We haven't gotten the chance to walk around the Pure Yang Division since we got here, right? I heard the scenery is lovely. I wonder if you'd be interested in showing me around."
Darryl glanced at Gromo.
'Only begging me for help when you need it after trying to pick a bone with me? What a sucker!'
Cormac was no fool as well. He understood what Darryl was implying, so he smiled and nodded. "Of course. It'd be my honor to show you around, Brother Darryl."
"There's a maple forest behind the hill and a hot spring next to it. Would you like me to take you there now?"
Cormac cast a smug glance at Gromo. F*ck, that idiot is always trying to find a way to take things out on me just because he's an elder. Look who's laughing now!'
The two men smiled at each other, moving to leave the hall.
Darryl had no intention of leaving. He was only trying to provoke Gromo.
Whew…
Everyone smiled wordlessly. They could tell that Darryl did that on purpose. Yet, no one stepped out to help Gromo.
