Sandra's eyebrows shot up at the enigmatic expression on Darryl's face, but she refrained from asking too many questions and hastily stowed the box before following him.
The entire way, Darryl walked ahead while taking in the view before him with an expression of ease.
Sandra held the box behind him. Her expression was nothing but sour and worried. The two made for a sharp contrast.
Quickly enough, they reached the first floor of the Pill Tower.
"Sect Master!"
Sofia was in the middle of talking to someone, and her face lit up at the sight of Darryl returning as she rushed forward to welcome him. "You're back."
As she spoke, Sofia looked warily behind herself.
A breathtaking figure with exquisite features sat on the chair inside. It was Gigi, whom Darryl had met at the hot spring the previous day.
The Pill Tower had strict rules, and no one could enter without permission— not even the Palace Master, let alone Gigi.
However, Sofia and Gigi were good friends. Gigi was closer than a sister to Sofia, and Darryl was not around. Thus, Sofia had taken the autonomy to have Gigi there to visit. However, she did not expect Darryl to return while they were chatting. She grew nervous.
At the same time, Gigi scrambled to stand at the sight of Darryl. Her exquisite features creased into an unnatural expression.
Under the circumstances, Darryl was startled before his face broke into a smile as he looked at Gigi. "Oh, wow, we've got a rare guest! What news from the Palace Master do you have for me, Miss Norah?"
As he spoke, he took in the sight of Gigi.
She was clad in a deep purple dress that contrasted against the paleness of her skin perfectly and highlighted her breathtaking curves. Any man who had their eyes on her would not be able to look away.
Gigi had initially felt slightly guilty, but under Darryl's unrelenting stare, she immediately grew annoyed as she said coldly, "The Palace Master doesn't have any news. I just wanted to have a look around. Is there a problem with that?"
She sounded whiny and frustrated, making her and Darryl look like a pair of squabbling lovers.
Crap!
Sofia was too young to understand the tension in the air and panicked at seeing Darryl and Gigi arguing. She turned to look pointedly at Gigi.
