Heather and Ambrose startled at the words, turning their heads to see what was going on.
"Crap, they've found us."
"Let's go. We have to find that baby."
As they spoke, Ambrose tugged at Heather's hand as he summoned his internal energy and sped up.
Quickly enough, they reached the peak of the mountain. The child was right there, surrounded by a few large rocks to prevent it from rolling down.
Whew…
Seeing as the child was fine, Ambrose and Heather exchanged a glance as they both let out sighs of relief.
Following that, Heather strode over quickly to hold the baby in her arms. "There there, we're here now…" As she spoke, tears streamed from her face uncontrollably as she thought of Morticia's tragic death.
It was also then that the soldiers had found them on the peak of the mountain, and soared over. They stopped short at the sight of the baby in Heather's arms.
Yet quickly enough, they managed to return to their senses, drawing their long swords and approaching the pair.
"A baby?"
"Must be spawn of the Hidden Hero Sect. Kill it too."
The soldiers wielded their weapons, launching into an attack against Ambrose and Heather.
Motherf*cker…
Ambrose's gaze grew bloodshot at the sight. He raised an arm, clenching the Tyrant Hammer tightly in his fist before stepping in front of Heather.
"Leave now, Heather. I'll hold them back."
Upon saying the words, Ambrose met the attacks head on.
How would Heather ever have the heart to do that? "Be careful, Brother Ambrose…" She clutched the baby tightly in her arms, shouting the words with all her might.
