Anthea was awakened from her fantasy by the ringtone.
Then, she realized what she had done just now. Her cheeks turned a little red. She swallowed, and then picked up the phone. "Hello, grandpa!"
Master Hsu asked her lovingly, "What are you doing now, Anthea?"
"I'm in the dormitory. I've just had lunch!" Anthea asked lovely, "Grandpa, what's the matter?"
"Humph... You heartless girl. Don't you think you've forgotten something?" Master Hsu pretended to be angry.
"You mean your birthday?" Anthea sniggered and coaxed him. "Grandpa, how can I forget it? I've prepared all the gifts. I'll send them to you by express delivery, and you'll receive them tomorrow!"
"Send the gifts to me by express delivery? Why don't you give them to me personally? There'll be a birthday party tomorrow night. I'll ask the driver to pick you up at school!"
"Grandpa, I'm going to study at night..."
Anthea was not lying to Master Hsu. It was true that as a grade-three senior high school student she had to attend night classes. But more importantly, she didn't want to go to the Hsu family. She felt that she didn't belong to there.
"Ask for a leave from your teacher!" Master Hsu said directly, "I'm an old man now, Anthea. I haven't had a birthday with you yet! Now you've moved to Ice city. If you don't come to my birthday party, grandpa won't be happy!"
Seeing that Anthea didn't say anything else, Master Hsu sighed deliberately and added exaggeratedly, "At my age, how many years can I live? One of my feet has stepped into the coffin!"
Anthea replied helplessly, "Grandpa, don't say that. I'll go to your birthday party!"
In the evening of the second day, the sunset glow kindled the sky.
Anthea had refused Master Hsu's suggestion that he would send a driver to pick her up at school. Instead, she chose to take a taxi herself.
Just like before, she jumped out of the taxi at the door. As she walked inside, she could see the bustling scene in the villa from afar.
Both the Hsu family and Master Hsu were influential in Ice city. Although the birthday party was not held in a high-profile way, many people still came after they heard about it. There were a great many luxury cars parked in the courtyard.
Anthea's eyes swept over those luxury cars. She seemed to be looking for something eagerly.
Finally, her eyes were fixed on the jeep with the military plate.
The birthday party was held in the side hall, but due to the reason that a large number of guests had come, Anthea could see groups of people chatting together after she entered the hallway.
Of course, Anthea didn't know a single one of them. However, just like when she was eagerly searching for the jeep, she subconsciously looked inside the hall. This time, she spotted Adam in the crowd at a glance.
He was dressed formally today, and was wearing a black suit.
His black suit was of a British style, and there was a vest beneath it, which made him look strong and handsome. His military boots were today replaced by a pair of shining leather shoes.
Adam looked very handsome, and he was also a strong and clever young man. He really stood out in the crowd. Unlike the others who were busy gossiping, he stood there in silence, with one hand in his pocket.
Even though there were many people around him who tried to talk to him, he just listened to them most of the time, and nodded from time to time.
"What are you doing here?"
Suddenly, a man shouted to Anthea. It was clear that this man didn't like her
Upon hearing the voice, Anthea turned around and saw Jayden Hsu, the youngest son of the Hsu family. He was also the only son at the moment.
The eldest son and the eldest daughter of the Hsu family had respectively been killed by car accident and air crash, and now Jayden was the only one left. This year, Master Hsu decided to retire to the second line, and he had just completely handed over the family business to Jayden.
