Purchased A Mr. Right novel Chapter 1049

She stared at him, her eyes brilliant with unwept tears.

Adam frowned slightly and said in a low voice, "The combat exercise is held in a forest. No cell towers."

"This type of exercise is closed off. We're not allowed to contact the outside world. We can only use walkie-talkies and keep our phones in the base."

After listening to his words, Anthea spoke up, smiling so that her dimples showed, "So, you didn't mean to not answer my call or reply to my message, did you?"

The bitterness accumulated in the past month had disappeared in an instant.

"No." Adam nodded.

"All right!" Anthea turned to hold her shoulders with both hands, raised her chin, and announced, "Then treat me to dinner, and I'll forgive you!"

There was nothing that couldn't be solved by a meal!

If it didn't work, then two meals!

Seeing that she had climbed into the passenger seat radiantly and waved at him, Adam shook his head and laughed.

The jeep drove out from the exclusive road and ran to the main road. The neon lights had already lit up the whole city.

Anthea had no mood to appreciate the beautiful scenery outside the window. She wanted to say more to him. "Adam, have you been in the exercise since you returned to the army this month?"

"Yes." Adam nodded.

After driving for a while, he habitually picked up a cigarette from the storage compartment and lit it.

White smoke rose, and he heard her soft voice asking, "Are you tired?"

Hearing her words, a smile touched the corners of his mouth while he didn't say a word.

How childish she was.

In the army, professional soldiers needed to make strenuous efforts to complete physical training and combat exercise every day. How could it not be hard? Truth to be told, to shoulder their responsibilities, they had to fulfill their duties with sweat and hardships that were numerous times more than ordinary people.

But in the car, seeing her delicate, tiny face was written with concern, Adam's heart missed a beat.

Just like what she said before, "I'm just worried about you", no one had ever said that to him.

Adam said in a gentle voice, "I'm used to it." "You must be enmeshed in deadening routines!" Anthea said.

"Sort of," Adam said calmly.

Anthea nodded and then blinked her eyes. Suddenly, she turned her head and asked, "Adam, I haven't seen you for a long time. Do you miss me?"

Adam's action of snuffing out the cigarette paused, and then he put it out in the ashtray. He glanced at her face calmly with his dark eyes and then reminded her, "Here we are."

When Anthea heard this, she looked outside. She didn't know when the jeep had stopped, but she saw the logo of Sacred Leaf High School.

"Oh!" She could only whisper.

In fact, she missed him a little.

After all, she had been looking forward to his answer since they had not seen each other for a month...

"Go in." Adam raised his chin slightly.

Anthea nodded, unfastened her seat belt, closed the door, and waved at him behind the car window. "Be careful on your way. Remember to text me when you get home!"

Watching the jeep disappear from her sight, she turned around and walked into the campus.

Two roommates came out of the library and seemed to see her get out of the jeep with curious expressions.
