Anthea sprang to her feet.
She asked the soldier who was running in the forefront, "What's going on?"
The soldier told her, "We just finished the rescue at the front line, and found a trapped aunt holding the child. Captain Chin went over on the rescue boat by himself. The child was frightened and fell into the water. Captain Chin went to save her, but he was scratched by the sharp rocks under the water!"
As soon as the soldier finished his words, Adam was supported to walk inside.
As he had said, Adam's right thigh was dripping with blood, and his camouflage pants were tainted dark by blood. Although Anthea couldn't estimate how bad the wound was, she was sure that it definitely wasn't good.
There was no extra expression on Adam's stern face. Even though he was injured, he did not frown. He only asked one subordinate to help and did not hobble when walking. He still had a strong aura around him.
Anthea quickly took the first aid kit and motioned for him to sit on the hospital bed.
The beds in the disaster area were all small single bed made of iron. The subordinates helped Adam over.
Anthea pulled a chair and sat next to him.
She cut open his pants with a pair of scissors, and huge amount of blood gushed out. She quickly grabbed the medical cleaning cloth and covered the wound with it.
The wound was too deep. Bones could be seen if it was two or three centimeters deeper!
Anthea gasped in shock.
Having been in the army for many years, Adam was used to injuries and did not pay much attention to it. In the rescue operation, he successfully brought back the trapped mother and daughter safe and sound, which made him happy.
But when he saw the blood gushing out and falling into a large pool, he frowned and said, "Anthea, ask someone else to come and deal with it."
"No, I can do it!" Anthea didn't move.
Other medical staffs were all busy with other patients on their hands. Moreover, his wound was very deep, so she had to stop the bleeding as soon as possible!
Anthea bent over with a concentrated and serious expression on her face.
After a few minutes of working, she had a little sweat on her nose. She breathed a sigh of relief and said, "The blood has been stopped, and the wound has been disinfected, but it's very deep, and it need to be stitched!"
Adam looked at her in surprise.
Anthea continued, "I am afraid that my skills are not good enough, so I have asked Leonardo to call the teacher. He will stitch it for you in case of leaving a scar!"
"That's fine." Adam was calm.
For a soldier, it was normal to have scars. He had countless scars on his body.
Anthea's stitching skill was actually very good.
For the whole semester, she would stay in the dormitory after finishing the classes everyday, practicing stitching with a piece of pigskin. She was talented and also worked hard, so she was the best among all the students. There were reasons why Professor Vincent had regarded her as his favourite student.
Vincent had praised her more than once that she was born to be a doctor.
However, she was still unconfident and wanted her teacher to stitch for him.
When it came to him, Anthea was not willing to get by, even if it was just a scar.
Anthea injected anesthetic for Adam.
After she had put away the syringe, Leonardo brought Vincent back.
Vincent was more than fifty years old this year. However, he was not fat like other middle-aged men. He looked hale and hearty and wore a pair of glasses. He walked in slowly. When he saw that everything was ready, he put on a disposable plastic gloves and began stitching.
After finishing stitching, Anthea went forward to wrap up the wound.
Vincent stood aside and looked at her with satisfaction. He nodded with appreciation and then turned around to attend other works.
After tying the gauze, Anthea put the tray aside and said, "It's done! Remember to to change medicine and gauze in the morning and evening. Don't let the wound get infected, and shorten your paces. Remember not to get soaked in water, or it will easily get inflamed!"
"Understood." Adam nodded.
