They wore thick in winter. Moreover, to prevent the coldness in the mountain, Anthea put on down jacket.
From a distance, she looked like a ball.
Adam didn't wear his uniform but wore a down jacket and a pair of jeans just like her. But he still wore that black army boot.
The army boots stepped on the ground, making sound of steadiness. The two of them walked leisurely in the mountains. As the sun shone through the pine trees, the slanting shadows overlapped, which made them feel like that had been together for life.
Anthea held his neck, and in her sight was the outline of his profile close at hand.
She felt both cozy and at ease.
Without her notice, Adam had already climbed more than half of the mountains with her on his back, leaving only one-third.
Anthea went up to him and pressed her face against his. "Adam, are you tired? Shall I come down and walk on my own?"
"I'm fine." Adam shook his head.
"If you are tired, do tell me!" Anthea was worried.
"Okay." Adam said.
He carried her on his back and the luggage in his hand. Even so, he looked at ease and didn't even gasp for breath.
Out of the corner of his eye, he saw that she had been staring at him. He said, "This is nothing. You are so light. Once during a rapid march, I broke two ribs and walked to the base carrying equipment weighted dozens of kilos in three days and four nights."
He said it as if it was no big deal, but Anthea's heart ached when she heard it.
After walking for another ten minutes, she pointed to a small wooden pavilion ahead and said that she was thirsty. In fact, she wanted him to rest for a while.
In the small wooden pavilion, there was another couple sitting together. It seemed that they also knew about the meteor shower. They were tired and were taking a rest with big bags on their backs.
The couple were young. They should have graduated from college not long ago and were newlyweds. They were in their sweetest time.
Adam and Anthea walked in hand in hand and greeted the couple.
Adam bent down to their luggage to look for Anthea's vacuum bottle. The wife next to Anthea came to her and asked curiously, "Hey, is that your husband? He looks so strong!"
When Adam and Anthea were climbing up, the couple on a higher ground had already seen them.
Along the way, she watched Adam carry Anthea up and did not show any signs of slowing down. Not to mention that the wife was jealous, even the husband was envious of Adam's physical strength.
"Ahem, no... He's my boyfriend!" Anthea blushed, and she explained, "He's a soldier!"
The wife gave a "Wow" and said, "No wonder. But judging from his look, he is not like a soldier at all. It's the first time that I've seen such a handsome soldier! You have good taste, girl!"
"Thank you!" Anthea couldn't help feeling proud.
Praises for Adam could make her happier than praises to herself.
After a short rest, they set off again and the young couple also joined them. They would not be so lonely on the road ahead.
The young couple had a longer rest, so they did not straggle. Before the sun had set, they had already climbed to the top of the mountain. Under the light of the setting sun, the two men started to set up
tents.
Adam was proficient. He put up the tent so fast that it was like he conjured up the tent.
The young couple were dumbfounded. Then they exclaimed praises and jealousy. Anthea was so happy.
The ground was cold. After putting the inflatable cushion on the ground, Adam laid out their sleeping bag. There was only a sleeping bag for one in the army, so he made two sleeping bags into one for two people.
