Amelie turned around and looked in a certain direction with her eyes narrowed.
She quietly gave somebody a blink.
The man who was standing in the corner was none other than Jayden Hus, who was Anthea's little uncle and had been spotted by Anthea when she entered the house. Tonight, Jayden was dressed in a smart suit. He stood there amongst other guests and was holding a champagne cup in his hand.
Jayden received Amelie's eye expression and raised his hand to make a gesture of "okay".
Amelie turned around with a smile.
That blink of her eyes just now was virtually a signal.
At this moment, Anthea had just finished speaking on the podium. Two small dimples were revealed on her cheeks as she smiled. Then, she subconsciously turned her head to the side. As expected, she noticed that Adam's eyes were fixed on her. Their smiles deepened.
Everyone could feel the silent sweetness between these two lovers.
Amelie watched them coldly from below. She had pursued Adam for many years, and she really loved him. However, in the past six years, Adam had treated her just like an ordinary friend. She had tried her best to please the Chin family, but all her efforts turned out to be in vain!
Now, in Amelie's eyes, love and affection had disappeared, and they had been replaced by resentment and hatred.
She had failed to win the heart of the man she loved. She hated Adam! She hated Anthea.
Amelie had personally arranged for Jayden's presence at this banquet. After some time, Jayden would personally stand out and expose the special relationship between Anthea and Anthea to all the guests.
As a military officer, Adam Chin had fallen in love with his deceased wife's niece, namely, his niece-in-law. Such a piece of sensational news would definitely shock all the guests, most of which were well-known figures in the army. Once this piece of news got out, it would be a great blow to Adam's career development in the army.
She wanted to ruin both of them!
When she thought that Anthea and Adam would have to face big trouble later on, Amelie felt as if she was a skylark twittering on a twig under the spring sunshine.
She almost couldn't hold up herself from laughing.
However, after waiting for a long time, Amelie still couldn't see what should happen as scheduled. Anthea and Adam were almost ready to leave the podium.
Amelie looked over anxiously, only to see that a lady had stepped onto the podium.
"Where is Jayden now?!!
"D*mn it! Where does he go?!!" Amelie thought.
According to the original plan, Jayden should throw away the champagne glass in his hand at this time. Then, he would point to Anthea and Adam who were still standing on the podium and curse them loudly...
Amelie looked around the whole banquet hall, but she didn't find Jayden. Led by the old chief cadre and his wife, Anthea and Adam had already stepped down the podium.
The banquet went on smoothly and came to an end.
The guests left one after another. The old chief cadre and his wife smiled and stood at the gate of the villa to see the guests off.
The old chief cadre's wife said lovingly, "Adam, you can bring Anthea here next time when you're free!"
"Okay," Adam said.
Anthea smiled sweetly. "Mr. Weil, Ms. Weil, well go
now!"
"See you next time!" The old chief cadre's wife said.
The old chief cadre and Adam nodded to each other, and then the former looked at Amelie, who had just come out of the villa, and said, "Amelie, come with me to my study!"
Amelie glanced at Anthea and Adam, who were leaving side by side intimately. She tried to hide all her emotions.
"Yes, Daddy!" She nodded obediently.
When Amelie followed the old chief cadre inside, she was still searching among the remaining guests for Jayden, but she couldn't find him.
At this banquet, Jayden had at least proved himself to be somebody unable to accomplish a mission but liable to spoil it!
Amelie was very annoyed by him.
The villa had already quietened down, while the guests had left one after another, leaving only the servants, who were cleaning up the house.
Amelie followed the old chief cadre all the way to the study. She thought that the old man might have some serious things to discuss with her.
When she pushed the door open, her face suddenly turned pale.
