Crystal didn't get up until it was very late.
She looked into the mirror to make sure that there were no dark circles under her eyes and her eyelids were no longer swollen. Then she slowly came out of the room.
It was warm downstairs.
It was noon, and the air exhauster in the kitchen was buzzing.
Crystal walked over and saw her parents in the kitchen. Adam was standing in front of the stove. Anthea was watching him cook with a cup of water in her hand. When they occasionally and casually looked at each other, their eyes were full of affection.
She curled her lips.
She grew up in a loving family. Every time she saw such a scene, she felt extremely warm and yearned for it.
She also wanted to find her man.
Erik's figure appeared in her mind.
She closed her eyes and suppressed such thoughts.
When she opened her eyes, the couple happened to notice her. They waved at her lovingly. "Lil Star, you are here."
Crystal immediately pounced over with a smile. "Dad! You're back!" "Good girl!" Adam smiled.
"Our daughter is getting lazier and lazier. Only when it's lunch time can she get up from her bed!" Anthea joked. Thinking of something, she added, "By the way, Lil Star, didn't you go out with Erik last night? I thought it would be very late. Why did you come back so early?"
Crystal said vaguely. "Emm..."
Seeing that she didn't want to talk, Anthea stopped to ask her to help serve the food on the table.
Adam had exquisite cooking skills. As long as he was at home, he would cook for his family. After not seeing them for a week, he would naturally cook a big feast.
When Crystal smelled the food just now, she had started to feel very hungry.
One-third of the dishes on the table were her favorites, of course, the remaining two-thirds were Anthea's favorites.
After setting the bowls and chopsticks, Crystal looked upstairs and tried to sound natural. "Is Erik still sleeping?"
Anthea said, "Erik is gone!"
"Gone?" Crystal was stunned.
Anthea explained, "He went back to the
Tbridge City. He left early in the morning! He said that he didn't want to disturb you sleep, so he didn't wake you up!"
Crystal nodded slowly.
She sat on the chair, feeling stiff.
Anthea sighed and said disappointedly, "In fact, I was reluctant to let Erik leave. I wanted to keep him for the new year, but after all, he has his own biological mother now. She would also want to see him. He has been in Ice city for so many days. I can't stop him from gathering with her!"
Adam looked at his daughter and said, "Lil Star, let's eat."
Crystal said in a low voice. "Ok."
She picked up the bowl and started eating.
Seeing such a rich meal, she unexpectedly had no appetite at all. It was as if her heart was stuffed with a stone, heavy and stuffy.
The following days went by quite normally, day after day.
The New Year seemed to have passed very quickly, like the sands between fingers.
Crystal stayed at home after the new year and in no hurry to go back to Francis. It seemed that she tried to avoid something. When the semester was about to start in March, Anthea urged her to pack up and book a flight.
When she left home, Anthea reminded her, "Your father is busy. And it's a peak time in hospital now. We can't see you off. Be careful
