When Tina heard this, she accepted it.
Isla got rid of their hands, ran to Bill, and greeted him like an adult. "Grandpa, I heard that you've recovered. Now you're as healthy as me. Congratulations!"
Bill had always been very fond of Isla.
When such a lively and lovely little girl looked at him with her big, watery eyes, he felt his heart soften.
Bill patted Isla's head lovingly and said, "Thank you, Isla!"
When he looked at Tina again, he explained awkwardly, "I asked the doctor. He said that it's not good for me to stay idle at home. I can occasionally come out and do some activities. It's good for me to breathe some fresh air!"
Tina nodded. "Hmm..."
Wilson smiled and said, "Let's go in!"
The hot spring resort was in the suburbs, far away from the city. It provided entertainment and accommodation. When they set out, they all packed some clean clothes because they would stay here tonight.
By Bill's feet, there was also a small bag.
Wilson took them to check in at the reception desk.
After they changed their clothes and walked out, some staff welcomed them enthusiastically.
When it was winter in the north, hot springs became popular. However, at this time, this resort was tranquil, and there was almost no noise around. They felt so thrilled to own such a large beautiful public spring for a whole day!
The first and second floors were hollow and connected. Wilson and Bill stayed in the medicated spring on the first floor. Tina took Isla to the small water park upstairs specially built for children.
As they got tired, the staff handed them bathrobes in time.
There was a rest area with cozy sofas beside the hot spring. All of them were sitting there together.
Isla was crazy about playing water. At this moment, her little head was covered with sweat. She put her little hand in Wilson's palm and shook his hand in a pettishly charming manner. "Dad, can I have ice cream?"
When she said that, she stole a glance at Tina for fear that she would disagree.
Seeing her lovely face, Wilson laughed and said, "Of course you can!"
He leaned over and picked up Isla with one arm to choose ice cream from the bar downstairs.
After they left, only Tina and Bill remained there. Tina sat up straight, looking a little embarrassed. In fact, she didn't hate Bill.
Before knowing that he was her father, Tina had always had a good impression of him. He was handsome, elegant, and easy- going. He was a gentleman who didn't put on airs when getting along with others.
She didn't know how to face him as his daughter. After all, they didn't know each other well.
Every time Bill was with Tina, he would also feel nervous. It was the first time for him to be a father, though he was an elder already. He was trying so hard to be a good father.
He took the lead to find a topic to talk about. "Ahem, Isla is very cute!"
"Okay!" Tina nodded with a smile, looking at him with her soft eyes.
Bill ventured, stopping addressing Wilson as Mr. Chin. "You are with Wilson now, and I heard Isla call him dad. Is he her biological father or..."
Bill was not clear about this matter, but he didn't investigate nor inquire about it, thinking it would be disrespectful to his daughter.
Tina was slightly taken aback.
Seeing this, Bill explained, "If you don't want to talk about this, then don't. Please don't get me wrong. No offense. I want to know more about you..."
Tina didn't mind talking about it at all. However, she couldn't bear seeing his cautious look.
"Yes, he is." She nodded with a smile and thought a little before speaking up again. "It's very complicated, and I can't explain it clearly for a while. At first, neither of us knew that Wilson was her father. It was five years after we first met that we knew it. Such a coincidence had never occurred to me since the beginning!"
Bill nodded understanding^ and did not ask any more questions.
All in all, fate made fools of people. He and Wilson had experienced the same experience, but he envied Wilson very much.
It was because he showed up when Isla needed a father the most.
