In the Amery family...
Abby and Old Madam Amery were sitting in the side hall.
Bill had just ordered Abby to move out of the Amery family. She would never live here again, but Bill didn't say that Abby was not allowed to visit the Amery family in the future.
The weather was getting hotter and hotter these days. The air-conditioning temperature was set too low when Old Madam Amery took an afternoon nap two days ago. After waking up, she stealthily ate some icecreams regardless of the doctor's instructions. As a result, she caught a cold because her immunity level was on the low side at her age.
The family doctor came to see Old Madam Amery and found that it was only an ordinary cold. She recovered smoothly after taking medicine for two days.
Abby took this opportunity to visit her Grandma.
After Old Madam Amery recovered from her illness, she still felt a little weak, and was dispirited. When she saw Abby coming, she became obviously much happier.
After Bill and his wife came back home in the evening, they left the house again to call upon Bonnie Lewis, who was living nearby.
Bonnie's daughter had recently given birth to a baby, and Bill and his wife wanted to congratulate Bonnie in person, as the two families were good friends. They also felt that it's auspicious to visit the Lewis family at this time.
Old Master Amery was upstairs in his own study.
For this reason, except for the servants, there were only Old Madam Amery and Abby in the side hall. No one else would disturb them.
After the two of them chatted for a while, Abby suddenly lowered her voice and said, "Grandma, I want you to do me a favor!"
"What is it?" Old Madam Amery asked in confusion.
Abby opened her mouth...
Old Madam Amery was silent after hearing Abby's words, and there was hesitation on her face. "Abby, are you sure this is alright?"
Bill usually carried the official seal of the company with him. After leaving the company, he would put the seal into his briefcase and bring it back home.
Abby had worked in the Amery's Group for a few months, so she knew this habit of Bill quite well.
The home was the most unguarded place for Bill.
Abby asked Old Madam Amery to go to the study and steal Bill's seal. After that, Abby would stamp the seal on a contract.
She also explained to Old Madam Amery why she must do so.
Although Old Madam Amery was unfamiliar with the company's affairs, she still knew the importance of the company's official seal, and therefore she was very hesitant.
Abby explained further to the Old Madam and tried to persuade her, and her tone was really sincere. "Grandma, you'll just help me use uncle's seal in advance. This contract is very important to me. Once it is executed, it will also bring great benefits to our company!
"You also know that uncle is very disappointed in me because of the incident last time. I'm very sad too, and always want to find a chance to prove to uncle that I'm a good girl! I hope that uncle would change his mind about me!"
Old Madam Amery seemed to be convinced by Abby's words, yet there was still a trace of hesitation. "But..."
Abby lowered her voice to the lowest point. "Grandma, Tina is also in the company now. In fact, I am under a lot of pressure. I want to use this contract to prove myself to uncle!"
Old Madam Amery was moved when she noticed that Abby's eyes were filled with tears.
She felt very sorry for Abby.
Old Madam Amery thought that since Abby was driven out to live alone, she must have suffered a heavy blow in her heart, and she must be very fragile now after the setback. The reason why she wanted to still Bill's seal now was that she wanted to use her actions and achievement to win the trust of Bill again. She simply wanted to return to the past.
Old Madam Amery felt bitter and sympathetic for Abby's failure and suffering. Moreover, what Abby did would bring a great many benefits to the Amery Group.
Old Madam Amery nodded in agreement.
Then, she went upstairs.
Five minutes later, when Old Madam Amery came downstairs again, she was holding something in her hand.
After the seal was obtained, Abby stamped it on a contract she had prepared in advance without any hesitation.
Old Madam Amery didn't think too much about it. Abby had been brought up by her since she was a child, and therefore she had 100% trust in Abby.
After that, Old Madam Amery went upstairs again and put the seal back to its original place.
It was as if nothing special had happened.
At about seven o'clock in the evening, Bill and Lin came back home together with Tina, Wilson, and Isla.
The five of them walked into the house and talked to each other happily. It seemed that they got along well with each other.
Lin asked with a smile, "I heard from Tina that you went to try your wedding dress today. How was it going?"
