She hung up the phone, and Mr. Weil also came up to him.
Simon put the phone back into his trouser pocket, raising his eyebrows, and followed the security guard to the park. Upon entering, he saw Emily standing there wearing a thick denim jacket in the middle of the small square.
As soon as she saw him, she immediately ran over in small steps.
When Simon saw this, he quickly strode forward and said, 'Why are you here?"
"I'm waiting for you!" Emily blinked her eyes.
Simon frowned slightly, and a look of concern appeared in his peach blossom eyes. "Why aren't you at home? When did you come down?"
Emily shook her head and did not answer, showing a mysterious look on her face. She stretched out her hand and grabbed his arm. As they walked, she said, "Let's not talk about this. Come on, follow me!"
At night, the community was quiet, and there were few people in the courtyard. Their shadows lengthened as they approached the street lights.
"Mn?" Simon raised his brows.
Without saying a word, Emily pulled him to the center square where she had just come from.
Simon, pulled by her, once again moved his two long legs forward. His handsome face looked a little confused. When they arrived at the center if the square, she suddenly stopped.
"Simon, close your eyes first!"
Emily turned around with her hands behind her back. She lifted her chin slightly and looked into his peach blossom eyes, suggesting that he do as told.
Simon, seeing her blinking eyes in the night, raised his eyebrows even higher curiously. Although he did not know what mysterious things she was up to, he cooperatively closed her amorous eyes.
Seeing this, Emily waved her hand in front of his eyes, trying to confirm that his eyes were closed. She then demanded, "Close your eyes and don't peek. Do you hear me? Open your eyes only when I tell you to do so!"
"Okay." Simon smiled a little.
Emily walked even further ahead quickly. On the way, she even turned back to see if his eyes were closed all the time. Only then did she continue to move forward with ease.
Simon stood in the same place with his hands in his pockets. He vaguely heard her shouting, "Open your eyes." At the same time, he heard the sound of something shooting up into the sky.
When he opened his pretty eyes, a firework went off in the air above them.
Then, more and more fireworks rose to the sky one after another. In an instant, the fireworks densely covered the dark sky above them and lit up the whole community.
Under such a gorgeous background, Emily walked over, her hands behind her back. She said with a smile, "How about it, Simon? Isn't it beautiful?"
"Mn," Simon said in a happy and relaxed manner.
Seeing him like it, Emily was filled with a sense of accomplishment, looking proud.
Simon smelled the gunpowder on her body and asked uncertainly, "Mrs. Chin, you set off these fireworks, didn't you?"
"Yes." Emily proudly raised her chin.
Simon looked at the magnificent fireworks in the night sky. At this time, he finally understood what she wanted to do tonight. "You kept calling me, asking if I had come back. You waited the whole time downstairs only to show me this?"
Emily nodded, curling the corners of her mouth into a smile.
In the brilliant fireworks, Simon smiled. Then he thought of something and frowned. "So you've been waiting downstairs for such a long time? What if you catch a cold?"
"It's okay. I wear thick clothes!" Emily motioned for him to see the denim jacket on her and then pointed to the security guard in the distance who was busying igniting the fireworks. "I'm a little scared. It's too late, so I called Mr. Weil to help me!"
