But then Simon added, "But you should tell your superior that you're pregnant, so you can't be overworked!"
"Sure!" Emily nodded.
Even if he did not remind her, Emily would pay special attention to the wellbeing of herself and her baby!
After eating all the rice in the bowl, Emily put down her chopsticks, got up, and silently walked back into the bedroom.
It was getting late, and the lights in the windows went out one after another.
The bathroom door was pushed open, and Simon walked out only with a bath towel around him. Emily, wrapping herself up in a quilt, had already fallen asleep in the bed. Under the dim light from the bedside lamp, Simon could see her closed eyes and the small shadows under her eyelashes.
In the bedroom was a large bed. However, Emily lying on one side of the bed only occupied a small part of the bed, leaving a large place for Simon. However, Simon knew it was because she did not want to be very close to him.
With light footsteps, he walked over, lifted the quilt, and turned off the bedside lamp. Then, the room fell into darkness.
He lay there still for a long time. When Emily's breath became long and slow, he was sure that she had fallen into a deep sleep. Then, with great caution, he stretched out his arms and gradually took her into his arms. After that, he kissed her eyelids gently.
The next morning, Simon drove his black Cayenne out of the Riverside Court.
He sent Emily to the TV station first and then returned to the hospital. He had to perform one operation respectively in the morning and afternoon, so he was not busy today.
After finishing the operation in the afternoon, as usual, Simon walked to the trash can and threw his disposable hat, mask, and gloves inside it. Then, while moving his neck to relax, he went back to his office by elevator.
In the last operation, the patient was a kid born with congenital heart disease, so this relatively difficult operation took Simon more than five hours to finish.
Simon felt hungry. Besides, it was almost time to get off work. Thus, Simon took out his cell phone and wanted to call Emily. However, before he dialed out, he saw a female nurse rushing over. "Dr. Chin, bad news!"
"What's wrong?" Simon frowned.
The nurse pointed to the corridor ahead and said, "A patient is making trouble..."
When Simon heard this, his peach blossom eyes turned to look at the distance. Indeed, there were a lot of people — patients and visitors were crowded there to watch the scene of bustle. All around was bubbling a cacophony of voices.
He asked in a deep voice, "What's going on?"
The nurse looked back and mumbled, "It seems that he is here looking for you. The man seems to have smashed your chair and is now in your office! He doesn't look like a patient in our hospital, but he knows you and keeps calling your name..."
Most of such things that happened in the hospital were medical disputes. Doctors and nurses had been used to such a chaotic scene.
Simon also thought it was a medical dispute. After listening to the nurse's words, his eyes narrowed, and he said, "I'll go and have a look!"
After that, he hurried over with the female nurse.
When he got closer, he found that people gathered around his office. The door was open, and from time to time, some curses would come from inside. Simon went forward. As expected, he saw Sean standing inside. Though in a decent suit, he behaved like a hooligan - he lifted his foot and kicked the chair.
His eyes were cloudy and red. Sure enough, he was drunk.
