"Here, drink this. It will calm your nerves down, Charlotte." Alice handed me a glass of liquid, that I am not aware of. Maybe, juice or something?

With a smile, I took it and started drinking. No matter what, I trust her. Only Alice and Adrian are two people I can trust. Others only want to torture me, especially, Augustus.

Thinking of him turned my mood gloomy again as I felt a soft touch on my back. "Hey, you okay?" Adrian asked.

I smiled, "Yeah. Let's go, Adrian. We should run away before he gets to know." I said. This is my last chance to run away from that beast.

He is terrible and unkind. He kept me as a prisoner. Good that, I have friends like Alice and Adrian who love me and risked their lives to help me out of that place.

I stood up but suddenly, my head spun and my vision blurred. Before I could know it, everything turned dark before my eyes.

The disgusting smells of primitive urination, vomit and blood mixed, jerked me out of the darkness as I fluttered my eyes open.

My vision is still blurry and my head is heavily pounding. I tried to move but gasped painfully as a sharp pain crossed all over me.

I don't understand what is happening. Why am I here? I remembered being with Alice and Adrian. We are supposed to run away, then... Wait! Did we get caught? Am I in the dungeon once again? Then where are they?

"A...Alice? A.ad.rian?" I called for them without caring about the burn in my throat. But there is no sound of them. Where are they?

Oh, Goddess! That beast didn't kill them, did he? No!

They came to save me and if they died because of me, I can't forgive myself ever!

The thought made me teary.

Come on Charlotte, don't cry. Finally, a way to save your friends. With determination, I tried to move and soon realised, I am tied up with chains.

My vision cleared now from before, and I looked around only to gasp. I... I am in an abandoned place, I didn't know about.

It looks like a dungeon that is not for use anymore. But, why would Augustus keep me here when he has a safe dungeon in the mansion? What is he trying to do this time?

I looked at my surroundings once again and I am alone. No trace of Adrian and Alice. I wanted to shout out their name but was scared too. I don't want to catch attention.

I closed my eyes, inhaling a deep breath, or trying to, ignore the vicious smell that made me nauseous badly.

But suddenly, a splash of liquid fell over me. for a second, I felt I am dying but slowly I regained my breath. The harsh smell of burnt chemicals mixed with the previous smell, making it the worst.

I couldn't take it anymore and started throwing up.

Everything inside me is burning because of that smell. Even after throwing up, my stomach is not satiated and wanted to throw up again. But there is nothing left but the digestive water that also came out.

I am feeling so weak that it's so hard to even move my eyelids. "A.l..ice... A.dd..." I murmured their names when suddenly a laughing sound came to my ear.

Slowly, I opened my eyes only to find Alice and Adrian standing a few feet away from me with smiles plastered on their faces.

I couldn't believe my eyes as my heart filled with happiness. Th..they are alive! They are here for me!

"G..guys... Y.ou are f.ine..." I mumbled, smiling so weakly that might not even form while closing my eyes.

Tsk~tsk...

I heard a sympathetic sound as I opened my eyes once again in confusion. As I looked at them, something hit differently now.

It's the same people yet there is a strange change.

"G.u.ys?" I called for them weakly and Alice slowly walked toward me. At first, I thought she would open mine but she didn’t!

She squatted beside me and smiled. This smile, I have never seen before. It's creepy.

Confused, I tried to open my mouth when her fingers pinched my cheek on the verge of breaking it. I whimpered painfully.

"Oh sweetheart, does it hurt?" She asked looking concerned but in the next second, she started laughing like a maniac and turned to her brother.

"Look Ad, this bitch here thinks we are here to help her, isn't she?" She arched a brow at me. And Adrian only laughed.

I am seriously confused now. What is happening right now? Am I in some nightmare or this is happening for real? Is... is this some kind of prank or what?
