Chapter 50 Adopted Daughter, Not Bad

Roslin seemed to have not heard her as she followed the waiter but paused when she passed June's table.

Then, Roslin's deep and cold eyes swept over June with a hint of mockery and sarcasm.

"Adopted daughter, not bad."

Roslin suddenly uttered.

June was startled, then her face changed slightly, followed by Sarah and Amelia.

Linda was even more embarrassed.

"What does she mean?" someone asked in confusion.

"Is she provoking us? Mocking us for being friends with an adopted daughter?" Camilla said angrily. After speaking, she realized she had said something inappropriate and quickly apologized, "Sorry, Linda! I didn't mean to mock you."

"I know. It's okay." Linda smiled understandingly.

Eleanor's gaze swept over June's and her friends' faces, seeming to detect something different.

Roslin's words seemed to imply something.

"I feel like she doesn't mean that," Eleanor said in a laid-back manner.

"If not, what does she mean then?" Camilla asked in confusion.

Eleanor looked at June and the others, "June, do you know what she means?"

Linda panicked.

She absolutely couldn't let more people know that she had spread rumors about Roslin being adopted.

Before June and the others could speak, Linda said, "Don't be angry with her. My sister is just like this. She doesn't mean any harm."

Her words successfully diverted everyone's attention.

Eleanor didn't ask any further, and June and the others continued their previous topic.

"Linda, you're too easy-going. She was mocking you like that, but you're still speaking up for her."
