"Thank you for spending the day with me." I smiled at Ethan.
He nodded. "I'm glad you enjoyed it. It's nice to have some time alone with you and learn more about you." His voice was gentle, like a calm river.
My heart skipped a beat. These were words that Ethan of my past life had never said to me. But today, I saw nothing but deep and unspoken affection in his eyes.
Could it be that he had truly changed?
Lost in thought, Ethan suddenly leaned in and placed a soft kiss on my forehead.
"Get some rest. Good night. Call me if you need anything."
With that, he turned gracefully and disappeared into the night.
I stood frozen in place. My fingers gently brushed the spot where his lips had been.
My heart raced. Was this the right moment? Was it time to put on that ring?
The next morning, I dove headfirst into work. I was about to open the first international store in Lendora, and preparations were in the final stages.
As the lead designer and project leader, I was running between the studio, the store, and supplies every day. The hectic pace helped distract me from the storm of emotions swirling in my mind.
That was, until one day, Kevin came to see me.
"Evelyn, Tony Burtt, the editor-in-chief of Lady magazine, wants to meet you for a meal. He says there's something important he wanted to discuss."
"Tony Burtt?" I was taken aback. Why would the renowned fashion mogul suddenly want to meet me?
"Did he mention what it's about?" I asked.
"No." Kevin shook his head. "But… he did mention Mr. Grayson."
My heart skipped again. What could Ethan possibly have to do with this?
I took a deep breath and nodded. "Alright, arrange it for me. Just tell him that I'm available whenever."
